What if alternate universe Nintendo bought Midway to battle the Sega and Namco's arcade ports in the 5th gen?

Exclusive MK, Ready to Rumble, Hydro Thunder, etc. Does it fill the void outside of RPGs?

I don't think mortal kombat would have done well as an SNES only exclusive seeing as how they took out the blood.
and blood and gore were the main selling points.
Nintendo doesn't like lifelike violence in their games.

Nope. Too late, really. The Playstation didn't dominate that generation because of Namco, Midway wasn't as important as they were five years previously, either.

They already had exclusivity with Acclaim and that didn't turn out too well neither did it stop PS1 and PC ports from happening.
