Is there any reason why there are two difficulty options in Cadillacs & Dinosaurs? One has eight settings and the other has four. How do they work? Other Capcom games like Final Fight and Captain Commando had this shit too.

Maybe it's for the loop? Like, once you've beaten the final stage the game starts back at the first stage again. Maybe it's for that.

None of those games have multiple loops though. I remember one of the former Capcom designers said that one difficulty option affects "lucky patterns" and other is for "unlucky patterns", whatever that means.

Strawman much? All he did was call a guy stupid for saying a game had loops.

I didn't see the shitposting, I just assumed because the fagboy immediately started crying "MUH OFFENSIVE POSTS, MUH SAFESPACE"

From the few experiments I had with Final Fight, it seems Difficulty A changes the amount of enemies you face (I noticed more grunts leaving the buildings in the first area each time I've raised the setting), whereas Difficulty B affects how aggressive the enemies behave. That's my theory, but it's not conclusive.

Knights of the Round has two difficulty options as well, but they clearly specify in the manual that one is for changing the enemy's attack strength and the other their aggressiveness, so I'm basing it off that as well. It might not be applicable to every Capcom BEU though.

One of them controls how many reinforcements the bosses call.

Sodom and Rolento don't call for reinforcements though.

I set Difficulty A to to Level 1 and I didn't see much difference in the enemy placement outside the thugs coming out of the buildings in Round 1-1. I did noticed that they're less aggressive and it's easier to stop Andore's bullrush with Cody's punches. I played up to Rolento at the end of Round 4-2.
