Let's talk racing arcades.
What's your favorite one?
Way to /thread your own thread OP
inb4 daytona 2/scud hipsters
Is it racing if your just racing against the clock?

The Outrun guy was later retconned into the badguy from Afterburner.

That girl he drives with its kidnapped. He's actually trying to stay ahead of the Tomcat.

For some reason I played this way more than Daytona and other ones, always love a bit of Scud Race on the really rare occasion you see it on location these days.
outrunners
cruis'n
any of the motorcycle games where you actually sit on one

neat
is it true that if you press 60# on the numpad, the gameplay switches from 30fps to 60fps?
I'd try that myself but unfortunately there are no Rush 2049's near my house anymore.
>>3278839
Outrun 2 is great, but you really can't beat Daytona. I do really like Daytona 2 though, on the odd chance I see a machine I'll definitely pop some coins in for it.
Mario kart Gp is okay, kind of easy though. Could never get into initial D
>>3280141
I'm not sure I guess I could try it though
There's a place where I live that you pay a $15 entrance fee and all the games are on free play I hadn't been there in almost twenty years
They still have all the best games like die hard arcade, Sunset Riders Carneval, both Area 51s, Battletoads, rush 2049
And the only modern arcade game that I like which is Terminator Salvation
Racing games are for normies.
I don't care if it's gimmicky, I don't care the movie it was based on is shit, I love it.

I could. My hometown arcade has had one since release. Whenever I go home for Christmas I play for a bit, and usually have someone challenge me on it. I think every male aged 16-35 in that town has played it at least once; it's probably what's keeping the arcade in business.
Lost the card with my wallet a couple years ago though. RIP RX-7 ;_;

Honestly?
HYDRO THUUUUUUNDER!
And also, more recently, H2Overdrive.
>>3280190
Yeah, that actually is a solid racer.
Even the console versions were pretty good.
>>3280254
Are there actually people that git gud at the post-NAOMI games? I haven't played them extensively but the physics feel goddamn awful. Compared to Arcade Stage it's like night and day, since those games run on a modified Outrun 2 engine.
>>3278870
No. Outrun isn't a racing game.
Battlegear drift/battle mode with 6-speed manual and clutch

>>3278839
Mein neger.
I own a pair of the 25" Sitdowns. Favorite racing game evar.
>>3278839
Battle gear games are really good, outrun 2, scud race and sega rally are top tier also.

I was thinking of making a mame (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) and putting it in my new home. what do you guys think of mames?
>>3284675
it really sucks for anything 3d.
>>3284675
Mame is fine, I mean obviously an original pcb is better but it's just not very practical. If you build the cabinet up it is a very cool bit of decoration and definitely fun for parties.

One of the best in the genre that I've ever had the pleasure to play.

I don't know how it is on MAME, probably shit, but playing in the actual arcade is one of those experiences you can't replicate at home, juts great.

I always forget about this game and then get sad when I remember it's not emulated properly. I played it at a laundromat when I was a kid and thought it was cool as hell. I wonder if there was a Japanese release as Mach GoGoGo?
>>3284924
>I don't know how it is on MAME, probably shit
guessing you didn't even watched the video you linked

>Racing games are for normies.
This is what plebs who never played them for competitive times actually believe.
