What's the best jRPG on the NES?
>>3278660
Metal Max
Dragon Quest 1 - 4
Final Fantasy 1 - 3
Earth Bound/Mother 1
Sweet Home
Donkey Kong 3
These days, it's hard to say. If you don't like grinding and random battles, then there is practically nothing on the NES that will hold your interest (unless you are more interested in action RPGs like Zelda 2, Crystalis, and the like).
I can't really get into any of them on the NES, though the WS/GBA/PSP remakes of FF1 and 2 + the DS remake of FF3 were quite nice.
Maybe Lagrange Point? That just got translated.

>DQ2
No. No no no.
>I hope you step on a D4
Jesus Christ, that's worse than Legos or caltrops

You want hack 'n slash combat?
You want a big party of characters?
You want Ninja Gaiden-style cutscenes?
Then you must play THIS videogame.
Dragon Quest 4

>donkey kong 3

>he hasn't learnt Japanese yet
>>3279142
I agree with this, but I wouldn't begrudge anyone saying DQ3 either.
Dragon Quest 3 > Dragon Quest 4 > Dragon Quest > ABSOLUTE SHIT > Dragon Quest 2
Ultima: Quest of the Avatar. Coming full circle.

>hack 'n slash combat
He wants a jRPG idiot.

Action-RPG's are still JRPG's, idiot.
Chaos World

I had no idea Chaos World existed until about a week ago and it's great fun, I've been playing through it lately.
