No single bird has ever ruined a game as hard.
Ninja Gaiden doesn't start getting actually hard until 6-1.
Until then, learn patience.
Shadowgate on the NES. It's so fucking stupid and naff, but because I forced myself through it as a kid, it has some nostalgic value for me.
Plus, the music is pretty good.

The Turbografx remake is easier, due to less aggressive enemies and easier final boss. I've never gotten past 6-3 in the NES port. The music is different though, but still good.

imo it gets hard for real on 5-2
6-2 is where it turns to bullshit, and you pretty much have to play by memory instead of reaction the whole stage
