Is there any way to make an emulator look like a CRT?

Is there any way to make an emulator look like a CRT?
>>
No because CRTs and LCDs/LEDs are physically very, very different.

On CRTs, the image will change depending on how far you are from the screen. Most emulators that try to look similar to CRTs make it so that it looks like you're looking at the CRT very close, which is not how it actually looks like on a real CRT if you're several feet of distance away.

Just get a CRT.

There is no way to emulate CRT on an LCD.
>>
If you think you will ever want to buy a CRT, it's better to buy in sooner rather than later.

$200 gets you an amazing, top-of-the-line 14" multiformat PVM or BVM with only very minor issues (burn-in or a tiny screen scratch). (Mint ones are closer to $500)

$200 can also get you a nice 20-incher if you don't care about 480p. For $100 you can get a sweet 13" 480i/240p desk tv.

Things only really get expensive if you want something professional that's either 20" and multiformat or larger than 20".

Even consumershit has better 'realism' and lag performance than LCD and people are practically giving these away for <= $30. Search craigslist. Only problem with this is most of the models people have kept to this point are the 30" and up, 250lb monstrosities and the smaller, more manageable ones are actually getting harder to find.

plug a crt into your computer
>>
>>3260717
you need an oculus rift to simulate the crt sitting in a room experience.
>>
>>3260717
No. An emulator will always look like binary data.
>>
>>3260717
There is a bunch of filters you can dl. I used to use one in BSNES.(i think) just google crt filters for bsnes or someshit. a few of them are nice as fuk

Yeah, get a 4K monitor.
>>
>>3260721
You're statement is really lacking logic. This is totally depending on pixel density per inch and resolution of the display, so what you are saying is theoretically total bullshit. But a lot of practical executation is in indeed rather bad.
>>
>>3260779
Are there any pvms that equal to about a 42 inch LCD full HDTV with a 960p integer scale 4:3 image ? Because if all pvms are small or cost a fortune in nice sizes, I'd rather stick to a shader.
>>
>>3262764
Sit closer to the screen.
>>
>>3262812
No I'm not autistic.
>>
>>3262852
You were also too stupid to think of this yourself. It's such a sad state when people can even think of something obvious like sitting closer to the screen makes it look bigger.
>>
>>3262878
Such behaviour is damaging for your eyesight. Only an autist would suggest or think of such thing. As already stated, I'm not autistic.
>>
>>3262881
You're not very good at talking on the internet either. You already used autist, couldn't you come up with something more clever this time?
>>
>>3262881
I'm surprised CRT-fags haven't gotten cancer from never sitting more than 2 feet away from their precious radiation boxes.
>>
>>3262912

There is more cancer now than ever before in humanity's history. And CRTs aren't used anymore.

Then again you probably mean "cancer" in the internet buzzword-way and not the actual medical way.
>>
>>3262912
Yeah science shows that that doesn't happen, and never did. You get as much radiation from your cell phone and you still use that.
>>
>>3262914
That is due to smart phones. Before people just got cancer from crts, xrays and mrts.

You can get a few filters for some emulators that create a fuzzy effect that KIND OF looks like a CRT, but how will it works is up to you.

where dat crt glow at nigs?
>>
>>3260717
Plug your pc into a crt.

Otherwise use retroarch, tweak the shaders til they look good, and use backlight strobing to get rid of the motion blur.

Can you naturally get scanlines on a VGA computer CRT?
