Excuse me while I post on an anonymous message board devoted entirely to games that are 20+ years old.
I don't remember ever playing EB when it came out, but when I played through it a few years ago I had a constant feeling of deja vu through the beginning of the game up until Threed.
Since then I've wondered if I actually did briefly play it as a kid, or if there was something in the game's design to invoke that feeling. Anyone else get that vibe?

That winter track was kind of annoying desu.
Not sure what the name of the track was that I really liked but it was when Ness takes a sip of that coffee in the cave, and text starts scrolling. Shit's good.

I ignored Earthbound way back when because I hated JRPGs as a kid. Decided to give it a try after starting to like them, and thinking Ness was a cool character in Smash Bros. Emulated it, and when I was about halfway through the game, it lost all my data, somehow. Finally went back to play it a couple of years ago and really liked it. Solid, quirky JRPG. Would like to buy a physical copy, but not at the retarded meme prices. Ah well.

One of my favorite games as a kid. Two friends and I tried to marathon it when we were teenagers. I think we made it to Scraba before we all passed out. Besides the game itself being fun, it brings back a lot of good memories of hanging out with my friends, just laughing and joking around and having a good time.
I miss those days.
