Either Bowling or Blackjack for Intellivision
>>3245498
Earthbound isn't rare Is just expensive.
>>3245498
Earthbound isn't rare, just gouged.
>>3245498
KickMaster on the NES.

If someone opens the cart and makes a claim, paypal will take the money back.Had some asshole do this with ds games before.
Conker Bad Fur Day
Super Alfred Chicken
Mega Man X2 PAL version.
Recca
>>3245498
Magical Chase.
SNES Sunset Riders
Secret of mana
>>3245498
If retro as defined here:
>Misadventures of Tron Bonne
>Sengoku 3 MVS
>Sunset Riders Arcade Jamma Board
Only one of these I paid over $40 for was Tron Bonne, because I won some money in a contest. I have Einhänder and Klonoa too, but the damn things are disc-only. King's Field II is only on here because it's sealed.
Got a complete SNES copy of X3 from a family member for free recently. Good shit
suikoden 2
Bangai-O N64
to those of you listing your rarest retro game: have you bought it when it was rare/expensive, or when it was sold regularly? If you bought it expensively, why?
>>3246663
Bangai-O guy here.
Bought it back in 2009 or so. I already knew it was rare (it was only released in Japan at a limited press of 10,000 copies).
Paid $60 bucks for it plus shipping, a bit steep but better than the price it's going for now (over 90)
>>3246674
that leaves the question of "why?" What was your motivation to get the game at that time?
>>3246675
I loved the Dreamcast game and I wanted to play the original version, and N64 emulation isn't good.
Also, I figured $60 for an actual rare game with such limited press wasn't that bad.
Also, I just checked ebay now. The game CIB (like I got) goes for $200, the cart alone $100, I guess I did good.
I don't plan to resell it though.
>>3246681
So your primary motivation was to own/play it, and the price was acceptable to you. You do not intend to collect/resell. Fair enough
>>3246681
it works alright with glide 64 plugin
Prototypes.
>>3246687
Well, anyway I don't have a USB n64 pad and this game needs it.
>>3246692
good point
MUSHA on Genesis, probably. Maybe Power Strike on Master system.
>>3246674
Nice, I have a cib Bangaioh that I got for around the same price a few years ago. I can confirm the n64 emulation of the game sucks, at last at the time some of the bosses were showing up invisible for me.
It's honestly one of my top 10 n64 games and I love that console. I'm aware it's worth quite a bit now but its way too much fun to sell.

Go away Patrick
probably Kingsfield it isn't rare but its the rarest one i have most expensive one i have is metal gear solid on gbc goes for 60 but i had a pikachu edition gbc that got stolen but thats not a game
>>3246808
lol i don't think he goes to /vr/ but he does use nintendo age
>>3245498
Probably Final Fight Guy or Super 3D Noah's Ark
Maybe some shit for Genesis?
I got a couple master system kiosk store demo carts of Great Football and Rambo. Pretty neat.
>>3246806
Prove it.
>>3245498
Going by what people charge, Harvest Moon 64. Is that actually rare, or is it just expensive because for some reason people think Harvest Moon should be expensive? To be fair, I've actually never seen it anywhere for sale. I run into overpriced copies of "rare" games at flea markets and retro stores all the time, but I don't think I've ever seen another copy of Harvest Moon 64 besides my own.
>>3246596
>I have Einhänder and Klonoa too, but the damn things are disc-only.
Why not just grab an empty jewel case and print out some art? I wouldn't be surprised if there was some dude on ebay selling repro art for a few bucks.
>>3245498
Probably MetalStorm. Got it when it was around $30. It's a game I don't even see at cons or a game stores like at all.
And I know, obligatory Earthbound isnt rare post but check it: Every LGS around me has had Earthbound. One con floor I went too, I spotted 5 different copies, two at one booth!
Oh and I got Chrono Trigger at Goodwill for $2.52. I know that one is expensive but I'd almost argue it's rarer, I do not see it like ever. Well besides my copy. Yes...this paragraph has gone on long only to absorb all the jelly.
I own Panzer Dragoon Saga and Conker's Bad Fur Day.
>>3247075
I did actually make my own case for Einhänder, but it doesn't look that great. I own the games to play them, but I just like the cases and manuals, preferably.
BEHOLD I OWN THE RAREST GAME KNOWN TO MAN
>>3247259
>the price keeps going up on this game as well
>>3247107
>Every LGS around me has had Earthbound
Yeah, same. all of my local retro stores ALWAYS have a copy, priced at close to $200. Eventually it sells to some hipster, and within a few weeks, they've got ANOTHER copy. I wouldn't be surprised if they've got a stock of copies, but only put one on display at a time.
>>3245498
>>3245498
that earthbound looks like a repro. looks like he put that label on himself. i need to get into that business.
>>3245569
take picture of legit cart to counter the claim. buyer has more rights on paypal and wins almost the whole time. once i had to chargeback on someone that i bought services from that banned me for asking legit questions. nothing in their tos claimed they could terminate at any opportunity and i lost the claim...
>>3247205
Wait... YOU HAVE A CAPRISUN STRAWBERRY KIWI?!?!?! Alright, this guy wins the thread, everyone. May as well stop posting now.
>>3247780
That's an old pic. I'm pretty sure he's drank it by now.
>>3247901
>/vr/ - drank memes
Dunno. Apparently R-Type 3, Space Megaforce, and Pocky & Rocky 2 are expensive as fuck these days, so maybe one of those. I don't really pay attention to rarity.
Used to own this. Brother got rid of our entire NES collection except Duck Hunt & Mario
12 revisions of the unreleased Cabbage Patch Kids Adventures in the Park for Atari 2600. Also, a couple dozen other chips from Colecovision games, both released and unreleased. $27 at a flea market in 2008.
I have Chrono Trigger, not really rare but the price has been going up. Also a Japanese copy of super metroid.
Either...
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (GCN)
or
Chrono Trigger (SNES)
>>3248190
Where was this at? Do they work? If so, have they been dumped?
>>3248369
If you do a Google search you can find them and yes. Since that's a photo that's already online, there's a decent chance that the poster here isn't actually the owner.
>>3248369
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabbage_Patch_Kids:_Adventures_in_the_Park
The roms out there in the archives. I used to have a folder with all the roms but i no longer host my own site. They all worked when dumped.
The unreleased games for coleco were Hustler (Pool game), Jigsaw, Dragons Lair for Adam and the Sword and the Sorcerer. They should all be out there in the Web.
This was at the Laney College flea market in Oakland, CA, undisputed best videogame flea anywhere. The good stuff is not in the booths with game stuff. The good stuff is buried, or laying in between a coffee maker and a pile of tangled DC connectors. It's worth a trip to the Bay Area, even if you find nothing.
An EGM editor's Storage locker once game up for sale here. I've found an Adam in the box, 2 GC dev kits, and about 4 Game n Watches at this flea, in addition to hundreds of other items.
More photos of the haul.

Neat stuff. Awesome find. I doubt I'll ever get that lucky.
>>3248405
Too bad all prototype collectors can't be a cool guy like you. You did a good.Fuck that Socks the Cat guy.
>>3248410
Feels good man. Anyone who doesn't dump can dangle.
And just keep this as a good story to remind yourselves you CAN find this stuff, it IS out there, even at super well known locations. Every day is a new day at thrift/fleas/garage sales! Why, I just found some Adam carts at a book store on the side of 101 North this weekend!
>>3245498
Too lazy to get unbox it, but I have a fairly complete Sega Saturn collection: Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shining Force III, Burning Rangers, Dragon Force, Albert Odyssey Rayearth, Dark Savior. Bought the console because it had a lot of JRPGs, and that was favourite genre as a kid.
Same thing for PS1: Valkyrie Profile, Tron Bonne, Lunar & Lunar 2 complete, Brigandine, two Black Label copies of FFT, Suikoden & Suikoden 2, yadda yadda.
Panzer Dragoon Saga is probably the rarest.
I really wish I hadn't sold all my SNES shit to afford PS1 games, though. I had copies of ALLTP, Earthbound, and pretty much the entire Square and Enix lineups, in addition to a few other items which go for crazy prices today, like Aero Fighters and Metal Warriors.
>>3245498
My old roommate just gave me all his PS1 and PS2 games since he never plays them, and in the set was Tron Bonne. I told him how much it was worth but he let me keep it anyway.
>>3248881
Idk if that one's rare or just expensive, but for rarest I guess it would be the initial-run PC version of San Andreas with the ESRB AO sticker on it (non retro, I know) or the Amiga and Atari ST versions of Alpha Waves. Not valuable but pretty hard to find.
Depends on who you talk to.
I've got a boxed magnavox odyssey. My parents bought it for me from goodwill in the 90's. Even that's not as gouged as some more modern games.
>Earthbound
>Rare
pick one.
>>3245498
I lost it once and tried searching for it with very little success.
Apperently they sell the game boxed for $300 but just the cartridge for around $60.
Again, price not rarity, however.
I also got a shitload of old gameboy games like TMNT, Brain Games, Tetris. No idea how rare those are.
Wizardry Proving grounds for gbc
>>3245498
Its a stretch but Pokemon Snap with property of blockbuster stickers on it
>>3249478
Crazy how much localization and cardboard changes things. I literally bought this game for 108 yen a few weeks ago.
Rarest would have to be a bunch of Japanese Saturn samplers, or a 2-in-1 bootleg of Bare Knuckle 3 + Terminator 2. Neither of them are any common on ebay or elsewhere.
They aren't any expensive either, though.
