So /vr/, who was the best retro ninja?
Tenchu
>>3243369
>Ninja
>Not Ninjas
Cowabunga, dude
>>3243369
They all based, fàm.
Michael Dudikoff
It's really down to Ryu vs. Shinobi. Strider is lame.
>>3243369
>Strider
I never really considered him a Ninja.
>>3243394
>Strider
>lame
WEW LAD
Shinobi is truly an 80s ninja movie come to life
Terrorist drug lord ninja clan, genetically engineered monsters and street punks and ancient japanese monsters and kung fu masters
On a related note http://youtube.com/watch?v=_miL3Kd6E6w
Altough I love them all equally, you can't deny that Ryu is the strongest whatsoever.
>kills a god, a fiend, a doppleganger
>escape's death (somehow)
>>3243380
Yes sir
>>3243369
Ryu because he literally went to Hell to kill demons. Ninja Gaiden was the Doom of its day.
>>3243394
>Shinobi
>Strider
Their names were Joe Musashi and Strider Hiryu. Get it right.
>>3243443
That was the whole point. The original Joe Musashi was modeled after Sho Kosugi after all.
>>3243369
Joe because he has the swaggest music.

>>3243579
>Strider's name is Strider
thanks for telling me that captain
Strider only had 2 games, both kinda mediocre.
Shinobi had more bad games than good games.
My vote goes to Ninja Gaiden and Ryu.
>>3243775
>Shinobi had more bad games than good games.
I'm not sure that's really true. Cyber Shinobi and Shinobi Legions are ass, as is the weird and awful GBA game, but the original, Revenge, Shadow Dancer, both GG games, III, and 3DS are all excellent. I haven't played the PS2 games but I know they have their fans.
>>3243579
Autism speaks, but who will listen?
>>3243775
>Shinobi had more bad games than good games.
Quite the contrary.
>>3243801
>3DS Shinobi
>excellent
I dunno about that, familia.
>>3243369
>>3244224
It's imperfect, but what it does well it does very well.
This one
>>3244452
Hell yeah, loved Ninja Warriors Again.
>>3243859
>>Getting a character's name right is autism.
No, but being a smug little cunt about it is a very autistic thing to do as a grown man
Joe Musashi,he da real ninja.
From the three listed, Strider by a landslide for me. I like the other two but I like him the most.
Needs more creepy rescuing of little boys.
>>3243584
Can't argue with this
>>3244689
So is debating over which fictional video game ninja is the best. Get over your high horse.
>>3244452
Superior Natsume Ninja game coming through.
>>3243584
Did somebody say swag music?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZgGrFlbV0w
>>3244814
Who dis? She a qt
Surprised nobody has mentioned Goemon yet, considering /vr/ loves his games.
SUPER NINJYA KUN
>>3245567
Are you serious
They're two different titty monsters, Taki frmo Soul Calibur and Mai from King of Fighters.
Both characters existed on /vr/ systems but the images in question are not from /vr/ games
>>3245546
>Goemon
>ninja
That's like saying Abraham Lincoln is the best vampire slayer.
>>3246053
Goemon is based on Goemon Ishikawa, who is depicted in japanese culture as a ninja.
Anyway if we're talking kunoichi too, I'd say Yae from Goemon series.
>>3246060
Except Goemon Ishikawa was not a ninja, despite how Japanese culture likes to ridicule him.
>>3246069
I know, he was a robin hood-esque characterand we don't even know if he existed or not, it's a legend character
Still, the Goemon from the Ganbare Goemon games is a ninja, as are his other 3 friends. They're just more cartoony and less serious than Musashi or Hayabusa.
>>3246060
What's the name of that mesh/chainmail shirt ninjas always wear in anime/manga? It's been driving me nuts for a while now, need a name please.
>>3246074
That would be a kusari katabira (鎖帷子)
>>3246452
So it's literally just a chain-mail shirt? I get confused because it looks like straight lines, like a mesh, and not riveted.
Thanks
What a weird game this was.
Jiro Musashi is the best, obviously.
>gets transported into the future
>still rekts everyone
>>3247196
Men in the past were stronger than men now, that's not surprising.
>>3246465
Most of the time it's under tags like fishnet
Scorpion
DoA started as a /vr/ series right? I never played it but I like the ninja costumes the games have.
>>3247919
DOA1 ran on Sega's Model 2 board and the first port was for the Saturn. It's definitely before the cutoff point.
>>3246060
Yay is cute, CUTE!!
>>3247664
He's not brought enough in these conversations. Great costume, moves, backstory, and taunt. Just an overall badass.mk1+2 Sub-Zero is also based. Reptile is alright.
ninja
>>3247985
You can do it anon, I only started playing Revenge of Shinobi recently and beat it in the course of 1 or 2 weeks by playing it only when I went to take a shit (no save states or other bullshit).
It's doable but it takes a lot of memorization.
I just started Shinobi III now and it seems a lot easier.
>>3248061
Yeah it definitely seems like something I could do with practice. I typically get to the highway without too much trouble. Then it all falls apart. Though I haven't tried for a few months now. Should give it another go.
Shinobi III is definitely a lot easier. Still has a few tough moments later on in relation to bosses but I managed to beat both the international and Japanese versions without too much trouble. But still really solid.
64 goemon yae
>No love for the synthetic ninja
What is fucking wrong with you!
>>3248638
>5.58"
>143 lbs
Wow, Kunoichi is faaaaaaaaat
>>3246053
>Mystical Ninja isn't a ninja
ok
>>3243369
Ryu Hayabusa, full stop.
If PS2 games were allowed on this board, Joe would take it for Shinobi on PS2, but that's not yet retro.
Strider Hiryu can suck cock, because his games suck cock.
>>3248061
Shinobi III is definately easier, mostly because it gives the player so many options all the time. You have so much more mobility and so many more angles of attack
>>3248708
>If PS2 games were allowed on this board, Joe would take it for Shinobi on PS2, but that's not yet retro.
Joe Musashi was in the old Shinobi games. Or are you thinking of Hotsuma?
>>3248814
Joe is also unlockable in the PS2 game, to be fair. And appropriately has infinity shuriken
>>3248842
Mah Ningga
When I was like 5 years old I used to play Captain commando with my older brother in the arcade.
I spammed Ginzu's self destruct move trough all the game and feed the machine a shitload of coins.
>>3248827
Exactly why I wrote that, since he's been in the series since the first arcade game and was the protagonist in almost all the older games, except Shadow Dancer (and even then, the localization people ignored that Hayate backstory in the JP manual and made him the protagonist in the Genesis version). Most people don't normally associate Musashi with the PS2 Shinobi, even if he was unlockable there.
>>3248683
well she is a T-800
No one gives a shit about Kage Maru
Not unlike how no one gives a shit about VF
>>3248978
He should've just been Shinobi, like how Ryu appears in Dead or Alive.
>>3249984
The original game it was based on had an even better OST. Game itself sucked though.
>>3249963
So? It shouldn't be too hard to add him in.
>imblying a question
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yl_F8ijsN10
i was a master system kid but don't be a faggot, ninja gaiden is NES. Master system we have wonder boy and shit, don't even pretend to have the better version of ninja gaiden. Probably false flag the more i think about it.
>>3250043
27:35 for start
>>3250043
Both NES and SMS Gaidens are poopy compared to the arcade game, familia.
>>3250192
Shit game tbqh, everyone knows the best Ninja Gaiden is on Amiga
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pl_N8Ji4jk0
>>3250202
Man, I feel bad for Australia-kun that all he had to play were shitty Amiga games until he could emulate better consoles.
>>3250034
Not really actually. There was a certain level of possessiveness over which properties each division could develop for. It's the reason why Fighter's Megamix consists almost exclusively of AM2 characters, even though Sega had other FTGs like Last Bronx, Golden Axe: The Duel and Eternal Champions.
No love for Kid Niki.... 3?
>>3251737
I love it
