I just played through this beast for the first time and I absolutely loved it. Probably the best FPS I've played. Everything about the setting, the weapons, combat, monsters. It was all so fucking tightly built.
What are the best fan made levels and how do I get them? I need more of this. Immediately.
Look up Malice.
Look for the custom gamer channel on youtube, there are plenty of custom single player maps displayerd there.

Honey is pretty short and sweet, with a cute ending
Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread.
But my vacations are coming up and I saw that Q3A is now open source, and I'd like to peruse it autistically and try to make something cool in the engine. I have, however 0 ideas beside my meager knowledge of 90's C and an autistic passion to do something. The question is, what would you denizens of /vr/ would like to see on the Q3 engine? I was aiming towards something that would be cool in single and multiplayer, kinda Coop like or team based, and with enough material to not be "just a mod". Just throw some ideas around and if I get to make something /vr/ will have first access into any abomination I get to code.

I'd love an explanation as to why that's not comparible....
Face it, lots of people won't have played a 20 year old game close to the release date. Hell, I love system shock 2 and only just got around to playing 1.

>learned some C in the 90s
>didn't know Q3A source has been released
You should work on the logo first.

Make a game where you are a box in a map which is a box and it is full of boxes, some of which shoot boxes. If you can accomplish that, then maybe you can start to think of game ideas that you can accomplish.
I'm serious, come up with something grand right now before you know what you can do and you might as well not even try because you'll not be able to meet your grand hopes.
