He's hilarious and I like that even though you might think he'd be totally gay he actually is successful with women and prefers to creep on girls if given the opportunity.
>>3238206
Isn't he based on Etsunobu Ebisu? At least in appareance.
>>3238214
Didn't know that, but yeah looks similar.

yae is a green haired vixen.

She's pretty cute. I liked her segment in Great Adventure where you get a part time job answering phone calls.

I also loved her call-center simulator missions. The one about game development cracked me up.
Why are Goemon threads so comfy compared to threads about other series?
>>3238602
Lack of tryhards + relatively obscure franchise.

I loved how the music changed as you progressed through castles, one of the many little details I love about these games
I've only played Legend if the Mystical Ninja on SNES, and a little of the first N64 game (or at least first localized). The SNES game is one of my favorites. What would you reccomend after that for a newbie? I can read a little moon, but don't want something super text heavy.

Do the Super Nintendo games have english patches yet?
>>3238657

Goemon 2 and 4 on SFC are playable without japanese knowledge, there is no translation patch for any of them.
Goemon 2 on the Faimcom however has a fan translation and is also pretty good.
>>3238735
I know it's playable, but... won't I be missing out on some zany jokes?
Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon 2 on N64 with Ganbare Goemon 2 on SFC as a close second.
Goemon.

yeah, it's based on Ebisu. they interview him in the megaman 2 episode of Game Center CX and they talk about it
This isn't exactly /vr/ related, but do you all know that Etsunobu Ebisu is actually still making games? He's currently working under Good-Feel who have made several godlike SNES tier modern platformers including Wario Land Shake-It, Kirby's Epic Yarn, and Yoshi's Wooly World.
I'm just really glad that this company exists and still makes amazing 2D platformers in an era where that genre is very neglected outside of the indies.
on-topic: My favorite Goemon games are Mystical Ninja 64, Goemon's Great Adventure, and Goemon 2 SNES. Also I really wish Goemon 3 SNES could get fully translated.
Goemon 2 for super fami

That's how it works around here, bub.

Shame that Shake It! wasn't as good as the R&D1 Wario games.

Anyone else got the soundtrack to the game on their harddrive?
>>3238647
Thanks dude.

I do, wanna me to upload it?
I also have the MNsG OST.
How much different is Goemon 3 to the other games on SNES? I've heard that the towns are more like Zelda now instead of belt scroller style like 1/2/4. Is that right? And is it harder to figure stuff out in the town sections without a guide?
>>3239804
>Kirby's Epic Yarn
>godlike SNES tier modern platformer
I love the aesthetic of the game but... no. Just no.
>>3241072
Goemon 3 has a Zelda LttP style overworld with towns and sidequests and stuff to do all over the place, but at least half of the game consists of sidescrolling platforming dungeons that are open-ended like Metroid/Shantae/Zelda II style. You definitely need to follow a guide for the town/overworld parts, but the sidescrolling sections are easy enough to figure out on your own. It's worth playing through if you don't mind following a guide for the 50% of the game that takes place in the overworld.

I'll admit that Epic Yarn isn't for everyone and it definitely has flaws, but I thought it had a certain charm that is reminiscent of the SNES era when developers actually cared about 2D sidescrolling and put a lot of effort/heart into the games... I also got this same feeling from Yoshi's Wooly World, but even more so, it felt like a true return to what made the SNES YI great, with updated 2.5D aesthetics that look just as gorgeous as YI did to us back then.
