I finally got around to somewhat organizing my retro room and thought I'd share it with you guys.
I'd like to see everyone else post theirs as well.

It's a pretty sweet batman TAS version.
>>3236775
According to this guy, emulation is only for /v/!
I wonder why the sticky links to general information all about emulating then... weird.
>>3236815
It was more about the way he presented his argument. I have no issue with emulation itself, but there was no need to derail the thread in the first damn post.
downstairs. the console tv is on casters and gets stored in the utility room.
>>3236827
that's a nice set up. what kind of CRT is that?

>>3236874
It's pretty good, i paid $75 for it.
>>3236764
Man, don't be a faggot and have all those games displayed upright and naked to the world. Throw out that garbage cube shelf, get yourself a proper DVD shelf, and put all those cartridges on their side like God intended.
I just moved to a bigger place though the living room is a wee bit smaller, but I kinda like it since stupid fucking Genesis and PC Engine controller cords are jew short

Although I at least give you points for keeping a majority of your games lined up horizontally instead of stacking them like most collectorfags do.

1st Fat has SwapMagic fliptop mod and was the ps2 I bought new way back in 2001. I kept it because hard drive and multitap. Other two are spare parts for it. Recently got Slim because slims can be exploited to run burned PS1 games with FreeMcBoot, and fats can't.
>>3237367
Thanks anon, they're just cheap Ikea shelves. They had back plates to hide cords, but personally I like easy access ;)
>>3238364
Thanks. It's a transplant/intensification of my old bachelor pad. Been thinking of getting rid of the multi-seating because I never have parties anymore.
>>3237195
I'm diggin the Magnavox Odyssey 2, Atari 2600, and the Intellivision.
Here's my retro station. The non-retro systems are hooked up in the living room and the rest of my retro systems are put up until I get the itch to play one.
>>3238758
You need to break out the dust rag.
>>3238814
I was wondering how long it would take before I got a comment about the dust.
>>3236760
What the fuck is the point of this thread? Am I supposed to be complimenting people for owning a TV and video games? I bet half of you retarded faggots spend more time taking pictures of your games to show off to the Internet than you actually do playing them.

Can you explain what form over function and cardboard means?
Also, I have those simpson figures sealed because I already have an open set in my living room. I normally open most of my figures, but in all honesty the simpsons look better in their box.
>>3238856
you don't have to do or say anything. it's just nice to see how people have their collection organized and what kind of games they own. this goes for pretty much anything i would think.
>>3238916
it's honestly a beaut. i love it so much.
>>3238936
nice eye man. it's pretty sweet. shame they never finished the alex puppet.
and a more close up of the trinitron, still trying to work out the wire issue. anyone have any good ideas?

>form over function
You have games positioned and displayed like they're in a museum, with shit stacked on top of and in front of other things just for the sake of showing off the art/labels
>cardboard
You own multiple games in their original boxes, and duplicates, which means you probably fucking paid too much just for collector cred
>inb4 "Nuh-uh, I got them through private channels and sensible fellow collectors who know what they're actually worth as opposed to rape prices
>>3239140
The ones I keep positioned like that are the majority I play the most so I see no reason not to have them displayed like that
and I own multiple boxes because they are from my partner and I's collection from when we were kids.
Finally got my setup done a week or so ago. I don't have a shelf for my games yet, so far just have them in a storage bin. Any recommendations for that? I don't have too much room to work with unfortunately.
>>3239376
aside from the wire management issue, you have a really nice set up.
>>3239382
Yeah I'm going to redo the wiring this weekend. I honestly got too excited and got it setup without thinking about the wiring issue lol.
>>3239386
No worries, man. everything looks superb. especially diggin' that dreamcast color. how much room do you have if you wanted to display your games? do yon own a lot of games?

>>3239659
Yes I do and thank you. the 16ft ceiling and huge loft sold me on the place. Here you can see the loft where the upstairs setup is, the living area is directly under it. the a/v reciever powers both zones and is controlled via a room to room remote sensor. It also has a built in line doubler but it only likes 480i
>>3239669
shit
>>3239675
how much did this place cost you?
>>3239681
264k, It is on 7 acres, has a 2 bay detached shop and a tiny 12x16ft 2 story guest cabin at the base of the hill. renting it now but want to make it into a gaming bungalow/bar someday
>>3238843
Dust kills electronic components, better keep it clean.
>>3239376
I personally just keep my games in bins/boxes. A lot of CD/media storage solutions are perfect fits for different kinds of games. Most shelving units aren't designed for optimal storage of game cartridges anyway, you end up with too much wasted space just for the sake of showing off your games.
Simple but i like mine

My wife's son doesn't like me taking up a lot of space, so I've got a single system station on wheels. Everything wraps up/shows away for easy movement. Bose speaker is way less than ideal, but it works for now.
Wrong thread but you chumps will probably know the answer to this.
Do all CRTs make a high-pitched squealing sound? Or just old ones? If so, can it be repaired?
I know certain people can't hear this pitch, but I can and it makes me not want to use my tv.
>>3240598
I know what you are talking about. Judging from past experiences, some tvs just do. I doubt there is anyway to fix it other than to get a different tv.
>>3240506
>i play games on a 65" shelf
who plays games on a shelf? why wouldn't I want to save as much room as possible?

Flyback transformers all whine but some chassis are more soundproof than others. Also your ears will just tune it out after like 10 minutes

They're Pro Studio, probably from rent a center or something. I got them in a trade. I replaced the shit crossovers and they sound pretty good now.
>>3241370
saved, thanks
>>3241449
try using indoor/party setting on the phone and disabling flash. Also 16:9 screen and portrait orientation?
Still a work in progress. Component sources can display on both, but I'm having a small bit of trouble daisy chaining RGB at the moment.
Game corner in my new flat. Only set up my wii so far and need a better lowboard.
>>3243214
Damn that shit is low n tite
>>3242969
>>3243227

...another angle. But it would be easier for the eyes to have the screen a lil higher. I was thinking to have something custom made... but damn that shits expansive
>>3243256
What's wrong with just stacking them?
>>3238332
Not the guy you're asking, but I have one of those. They're okay. All they really do is just turn up the saturation a bit. I don't notice too much input lag when using it, either, so I'd say it's pretty good for what it does.
>>3243259
would look stupid to put the big one atop of a smaller one... also the white pvm will be go to a friend of mine, and the small Olympus was new when I got him, so I dont want so scratch him up.
>>3243214
This is cozy as fuck. Love that futon.
>>3243295

You can sleep on it quite well... I actually had to for some months after I broke up with my girlfriend. Glad I don`t have to see that nasty bitch anymore

Have some consistency, man. Or at least get one of those extension things so that the Genny isn't hanging over the edge.
>>3243321

>>3242969
that mitsubishi beats the shit out of your pvm. i would just use that only. looks fucking awesome.

>>3239376

How's that 150-in-1 cart? I've been thinking about grabbing one from AliExpress to augment my pitifully small NES collection.
>>3243214
Love the futon; Wish the one I had wasn't in pieces and missing it's cushion. Not that the cushion was that comfortable to begin with.
>>3243256
It wouldn't be difficult to make a little riser that could support the ~60 or so pounds the OEV203 weighs.
>>3243562
Always love seeing your set up.
>>3243241
10/10
>>3243403
I'm not really sure why I even leave the SCD connected. I bought it for cheap from ebay, and the gears+limit switch on the drive are fucked. Only benefit I get from it is slightly cleaner audio from stuff handled by the Mega ED's DAC and RCA out for the audio.
I'd love a Model 1, so it'd fit in this really nice display tray I have, but the things are just too damn expensive to risk it getting ruined in the mail or just being broken to begin with.
>>3243558
Spec-wise, you're not wrong, but the PVM is much more forgiving on what you feed into it signal wise and isn't nearly as problematic as the Megaview. That tiny speaker sitting on top of it isn't just sitting there for shits and giggles: It clears up a pretty bad purity issue.
Having the two running right next to each other, I won't lie that I'm liking the look of the Megaview's picture more everyday.
>>3244017
>>3240598
the majority of them do from my experience. you eventually just learn to tune it out. stop being a pussy.
>>3243562
Neat, but that Terminator poster needs to be properly framed.
