Dude, for NES? Check out Super Dodge Ball. We had a lot of fun playing it when we were younger..... I suppose it might be a little different now but I recall having hours of fun against each other.

Balloon Fight was perfect because it didn't change a damn thing about the game when it added the second player. It didn't make the game co-op or versus, it didn't change the levels, it didn't remove any enemies. It just added a second person.
