Are you ready for next Sunday? Have you tuned your car, prepared for qualifying?

I just finished my first 60 mile race ... ever. Qualified 7th, came in 4th. Feels like a victory though. I love this game

got lucky because of two yellows, both not caused by me. They pushed the projected mileage, so I could skip refueling.

Is an car a athlete?

Throughout the race I realized the car's rear is way too twitchy. Had a few really close calls because of it. Should be easy enough to fix, because the simulation model is so easy to understand.
So far my car has only been tuned regarding tire pressure, camber and wings/drag. There's plenty potential left

If you like this play gpl

I have played GPL, and enjoyed it quite a bit. However, GPL, being a much more realistic simulation, is hard as fuck. You constantly feel like you're fighting the car. That's awesome on its own, one of the best aspects of the game, but a bit too much for me. I know Indianapolis 500 was meant to be a simulation, but due to the hardware it's targeting the simulation model is very simple, very easy to understand. That makes it perfectly approachable for a casual arcade racer like me. I can understand what's going on with the car, and the things I change have very noticeable effects. It's why to me this is one of the best sims ever made. It perfectly hits that sweet spot of simulation and entertainment.

For anybody not aware: Grand Prix Legends (GPL) and Indianapolis 500 are by the same developers. GPL is effectively a distant iteration of the Indianapolis 500 simulation model
