Does anyone here have any experience on burning EPROMs? particularly Snes ROMs.

Long story short, last month i went to a vidya convention and found some guy selling Snes multicarts, i bought 3 at $35 each, with bretty gud games that go for at least 50 each on the Resellers Bay.

So, i took them to a friends house to play some Turtles in Time and another guy there asked me if i wopuld sell it to him is aid well how much would you offer... $70 bucks and i said yep.

so i made %100 profit and now other guy wants to buy another one of mine, so im seeing a business oportunity here.

I contacted the guy who i bought them from and he can sell me the multi ROM boards for $17 each with plastic carts, the only thing im missing are obviously the ROMs.

Now, i have some decent soldering skills so there would be no prioble about that, however, what im lacking is experience with ROM programmers and finding the correct EPROM for each ROM.

Any advice here? tried Google but theres tons and tons of info and not an actual concentrated tutorial or wiki about it.

Any input appreciated.

?

this is the store where you can get the boards in case anyone is interested

https://mortoffgames.com/index.php?search[keywords]=Creation&_a=category

Now i need to either find a cheap sub $50 EPROM programmer that lets me burn pic related, or find a guy who sells already burnt Snes EPROMs so i can just mount them on the boards.

If you really want to become a repro/multicart seller, be careful, you can end up becoming a living meme.
>>
>>3230824
no i'll just become a little less poor

one day we will hear about rom-anon, trying to sell 3rd market powergloves and super scopes

Yes. Don't fuck around with a programmer that can only handle 8m chips. Get one that can handle 32m. You'll have to buy it later anyway. You'll need a PC with a parallel port.

If you don't want the startup costs get someone to burn them for you. There are plenty of people who do this. Many have "issues" with burning games. I don't.

well since last night ive been doing some research and ive found one thread at a game forum were some people claim they can burn Snes and Genesis ROMs using this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/401080640214?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

and this adapter

http://www.ebay.com/itm/401083922919?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

link to that thread in Spanish but Google helped a little bit there

do you opffer burning services? could you please check that PCB i linked abocve and see if you can burn ROMs for it? just take into account that i wanna make multigames, so lets say if that board can hold three 27c322 i want to make like a 15 game multicart or even more depending on size and limitations of compatibility of Hi and Lo mappers.

Do you have experience burning Snes ROMs? have you made any repros using hacks like Zelda Ancient Stone Tablets and fan translations? any email i could contact you? mine is

Wow you saw a business opportunity where so many others have before?? What a revolutionary idea! Also buying those carts from mortoff is absolutely retarded if you're trying to turn a profit. Those are so expensive because they've got chips for tons of different situations. Then you're going to have to buy the cart she'll. Then we're looking at multiple EEPROMs.. So on and so forth. Basically, go fuck yourself. We don't need another cunt selling repros.
>>

where i live yes we do... im not in the US Shaniqua
>>
>>3232271
Pretty sure the 886 won't handle the 27c322. I use a 5.0 and can guarantee that does.
Which board are you going to use? The Star Ocean one I assume?
I don't see any configurations that allows 15 games. Looks like 8 is the max on the PIC chart. Better check with the guy before loading the board up with memory.

If you send me a bin and let me know what part you want to burnt on I can burn it as long as the part will fit in my burner or one of the adapters.

>The Star Ocean one I assume?

i wanna use this one
https://mortoffgames.com/cart-creation-circuit-board.html

first im going to build 2 carts for myself, that one which has SRAM i need Chronno Trigger, Secret of Mana and Earthbound or FF 6, or do you think its possible to have all those 4 games on it? it only has 3 EPROM slots and i dont have the size of ech of those ROMS at hand.

>Better check with the guy before loading the board up with memory.

yes deffinitely im gonna make at least one more order from the same guy and then ask hik for a detailed documentation with every possible configuration and limitations on his 3 boards.

Ill drop you an email later to talk about your services, hope you are on the US tho since i can get stuff from Houston on a regular basis.

you mean a Willem 5.0 ?
>>

would this one work if i add this DIP42 adapter

>>
>>3232727
Yeah, that's the SO board. It actually only has two EPROM slots but he you can stack two in at least one of those slots. Just based on the size of the data I don't see any way you're going to fit all 4 games on that cart unless you can stack both EPROMs. Something else to ask about.

I'm in HK.

>>3232730
Yeah, willem

>>3232757
The programmer looks like what I've got. But not the adapter. Mine looks nothing like that. Maybe that's a lite version or something.
>>
>>3232986
yeah i fucked up about the board, he has an updated version that he just send to production here he shows how it works it jas 4 slots https://youtu.be/HmENj2n9oYY

Would you mind posting an Ebay or Aliexpress link to your Willem programmer and adapter?
>>
>>3230423

Why not just buy what you want for the 35 and flip it for the extra 15 or whatever and assume virtually no risk in the ordeal?
>>
>>3233068
yes thats my idea, monday ill order 2 more with the same.money i got from selling mine, IF i sell those two quickly then ill use that money to buy the peogrammer, eproms, pcbs and carts
>>
>>3233047
Jebus, that's a monster. And the pin count on the MCU has gone up a lot. I wonder if you could stack all 4 EPROMs? You're entering Neo Geo territory.

Here's the links. Didn't buy from these guys and not recommending you do. they're just the first links I found.

That's it, or at least nearly identical. All that's really important is the device list. It can burn 27C322s so that's what you need.
Good price BTW.
>>
>>3235832
ok bro thanks.

Also theres a couple other models that have the DIp42 chips as supported but it doesnt specify if it is natively or using an adapter.

the only adapter ive found is this one but im not sure if it is compatible with eoither of those programmers, do you think it is?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/310141053242?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Which one would you buy? i only want it for DIp42 nothing else.
>>
>>3235861
The 6.0 has slightly different sockets than the 5.0 but aside from that are pretty much the same. There's a version that lets you program over USB. I've never looked into it much because I already have a few USB burners. You might want to if you don't have a parallel port. Give it serious consideration. You absolutely do need a parallel port to use a parallel port programmer.

The listing for the adapter says it's for the 5.0 and says it does 27C322. Unless the guy's lying it's exactly what you're looking for.
>>
>>3235980
yeah parallel port isnt a problem i have an ancient desktop that i use for testing the ones i fix.

So would you recommend buying thw Willhem 5.0 the one i linked before, over the 6.0 version? have you ever had any problems with chips not burning as they should or something not working? im going to use 27c160 and 27c322 exclusively.
>>
>>3230423
>i bought 3 at $35 each, with bretty gud games that go for at least 50 each on the Resellers Bay.
Why dont buy a damnn flashcart?
>>
>>3236095
the onyl flashcart that can run SA1 games costs $220 dollaridos, the other ones cant run games that use special coprocessors so that measn no mario RPG, no Starfox 2, KirbyYoshis Island hacks, Megaman x2-x3 and so on.
>>
>>3232661
>Pretty sure the 886 won't handle the 27c322. I use a 5.0 and can guarantee that does.

I use a Willem GQ-4X and can confirm that it can do 27c322. I've a bunch of them on a socketed Megadrive cart.
>>
>>3236102
Other than Yoshi's Island and maybe Star Ocean, the coprocessor games are mostly trash.
>>
>>3236148
oh, and also Dragonball Z Hyper Dimension. Forgot about that one.
>>
>>3236142
>I use a Willem GQ-4X

that one goes for $130 senpai.

>>3236148
Mario RPG, Megaman X2-3, DBZ Hyper Dimension, both Kirby games comoon man.

Anyways, im reaedy to pull the trigger for this one

http://www.ebay.com/itm/291531758605?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

and im not sure about which adapter would be better, this one is cheaper, comes from China and it uses a ribbon which im not sure where to plug.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/121240616539?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

and this one is apparently 1st party adapter hence the price which is double.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/310141053242?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Does this looks good? which adapter should i buy? any idea on how exactly does the first one goes in the programmer? i cant find any decent pic of the board to have a look at all the jumpers and pins
>>
>>3236162
or maybe this one but im not sure if ill have to pay extyra for customs, it ships from Hong Kong.. any idea about this?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/27C400-27C322-27C4002-EPROM-Programmer-Willem-16-Bit-EPROM-Adapter-No-Cable-/121853986905?hash=item1c5f104859:g:b0kAAOSwDNdVimXC
>>
>>3236018
I have the 5.0 and I'm happy with it. I haven't used a 6.0 and I'm not even interested in it enough to have researched it much. 5.0 will do everything you want.
Power is the main issue I've had with burning. Use an external power supply
Also, remember to get an EPROM eraser. You won't get every image perfect the first time.

>>3236142
I can confirm the 4x can burn 27c322. I can also confirm it's several times the price of the 5.0. After our young pirate has made enough booty maybe he can consider it.

>>3236168
Looks ok. Still not the same adapter I have but at least you get a set you know belongs together. How's the price compared to buying separate?
>>
>>3236224

Willem is $40 shipped from the US, i wish i knew what the difference btw the blue and green board means, it must be a different revision but i dont know which one is newer.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/361363063428?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

adapter is $33 shipped
http://www.ebay.com/itm/310141053242?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

So grand total of $73 shipped from the US
>>
I have a similar problem. I'm making a homebrew game right now that is essentially a hack of RPG Maker 2 for Super Famicom; the problem here is that RPG Maker 2 requires 64KB SRAM so I can't just flash my game to any cart. Should I try to contact a homebrew SNES publisher or hunt down copies of RPGM2 and flash the ROM myself?
>>
>>3236486
i linked to a sore thats ells boarbs for multi or single games with sram integrated, it has a series of jumpers and switches that you can use to mount your ROM and "partition" the 256kb sram in up to 4 64k parts.
>>
>>3236148
I own the vanila everdrives (with dsp1 chip). I just bought the famicom versions of the games that don't work. It's kind of fun, a bit of both worlds.
>>
>>3236486
https://mortoffgames.com/cart-creation-circuit-board-simple.html
>>
>>3236254
As far as I know the only difference is the color of the solder mask. Mine happens to be green.

Sounds like you're looking for exactly what OP is using.
