OP here. Yeah, that was the one thing. The thing was so great and the graphics, light up screen, and color was worlds ahead of Nintendo, but the thing drained batteries like no other.

The color was cool and all, but even around the time they were new, I still think the screen looked pretty blurry and washed out.
The original Gameboy wasn't much better in terms of blurriness and shit, but at least you could take the thing with you on a road trip to grandma's or whatever.

I really enjoy playing my Game Gear, though I couldn't imagine lugging it around outside. Car trips and in bed with an AC adapter are how I play mine.
Can the mod please do something about the game gear spam

I had a gg as my only console growing up. It's 'portable' the same way a 'portable tv' was portable. In that it wasn't really. Also eventually the hardware just gives up and the screen bulb sort of 'pops'.

As a Sega fan who still owns by CiB Game Gear from back when it came out, it's probably one of my least favorite consoles. It has like, 3 worthwhile games that aren't lower resolution Master System ports. And the screen has motion blur out the ass.
