Fix your aspect!

Stop playing 4:3 games on your 16:9 display.

horizontally stretched games on youtube trigger me but I pity them more than anything
>>
Why? What's wrong with playing 4:3 games in 4:3 on a 16:9 monitor?

Thank you for specifying.
Guess you're perfectly fine with vertically stretched games then

If they're playing on titled monitors then vertically triggers me, but I've yet to see one playing like that so just horizontal triggers me. Anyway its more of a pity thee foo than anything else, really, just my 2 cents

Press that wide button in your remote controller couple of times.

What's wrong with playing a 4:3 aspect ratio game in 4:3 aspect ratio on a monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio?

The image isn't stretched and is the native aspect ratio.

I've been playing Phantasy Star Online GC version in progressive scan on my Wii and it caused me to discover that when I set my 60" plasma to 4:3 mode it puts up ladderbars that are some 128:128:128 medium gray bullshit and it triggers me.
>>

Use component cable.

That yellow, red and white cable doesn't give you the best picture you can get out of the Wii.

I think he just misread your post or something, of course there's nothing wrong with doing unstretched anything on a TV as long as it fits and you can deal with the letterboxing (if any).

I won't lie though, 4:3 games with letterboxed cutscenes on a 16:9 display bug the crap out of me.
>>

I'm obviously already using component cables since I said I'm in progressive scan (480p) not that it has any impact one way or another on how my display ladderboxes a 4:3 signal. It's just retarded it doesn't make them 0:0:0 black.

Get some black tape to cover up the grey.
>>
>>3212101
It's called pillarboxing in that case.

Maybe I'll put up some curtains
