Kirby has no fast travel (unless you get UFO). Gimmick you can fast travel with good star throws. Gimmick wins.

Tornado, fireball and wheel all go really fast. Hi-jump has faster horizontal speed than dash.
You can also dash down slopes to gain speed and then maintain that momentum by jumping off the hill and making consecutive jumps. You can slide kick off ledges to gain more speed than dash and maintain that momentum with consecutive jumps as well.
You can slidekick off a ledge, activate ball power, hold A, and as long as you don't hit a wall, you'll continue to bounce at the initial ledge slide speed, which is also faster than dash.
Recca definitely deserves a spot near the top. Pushed the famicom to its limits for sure.
Going to have to be another Kirby's adventure sayer, it looks beautiful. Probably not a popular opinion but I preffer it to nightmare in dreamland, still I have nostalgia for adventure so that probably is why.

It's not nostalgia. Adventure is a better game. Movement is faster and more fun, momentum is actually a thing, powers feel better to use (especially the movement powers) the art style is more aesthetically pleasing.
I didn't like how slow you moved in KNiDL, I didn't like how the levels were so cramped and claustrophobic compared to Adventure. Seriously, they like doubled the size of Kirby and Enemy sprites and made each level half the size. The only advantage KNiDL has over Adventure is that it doesn't have the framerate lag the original had, and technically it has more advanced graphics.

The only reason I cannot agree to that is because Adventure is plagued by slowdowns. First two worlds had little of them and come off as the better experience, the rest of teh game is a sad affair.
