Fuck yeah! I watched this every Saturday afternoon that I could. Watching when I was older made me realize that it kinda sucked in hindsight. Any one out there remember Gamerz? I think it aired on Friday nights and reran weekday mornings at 6 or 7? Here's the commercial, I can't find any episodes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKDo9jJUS-I

I've watched two episodes so far, and this show is really great. It has tons of personality, actually shows you tons of game footage, and is informative with some of the technical information like taking apart the consoles and carts, showing the latest virtual reality, or showing NASA footage about space stuff. Instead, we got schlock like Nick Arcade as our only game-related TV show. We were robbed. Why live.

A reason why to hate Bad infuence

Also they where ment to review Rise of the robots, but never did, from series two the opening animations had characters from the game.

Gamesmaster on the other hand was awesome

That show was itself a re-branding of the Anti-Gravity Room. I met Phil Guerrero once at Square One across from where Gamerz was filmed (Playdium), and he wasn't particularly happy about Anti-Grav getting the chop.

In France etween 1992 and 1996 the major television stations had broadcasts on video games. Since nothing except to speak evil.

because they rated games? Oh no they gave castlecania a 1 back in 1994 also DraculaX was probably dissapointing when you had recently played Rondo Of Blood on the Turbo CD. Both Gamemaster and Bad Influence are the top comfy and I'm glad some fagots recorded them all and dumped them online so I could watch them.

I remember GamesMaster regular Dave Perry (a UK gaming 'legend') losing his fucking shit because he was beaten at Super Mario 64.

Sulked like a pussy.

Don't think he ever came back.

This is hilarious. I thought it was Dave Perry from earthworm jim fame, but I guess it was some random britbong e-celeb before e-celebs existed.

It's funny because on the interview posted on the video description he says he never played Mario 64 because he hates "those cutesy Nintendo games"; lol, I can only imagine his anger when he lost to a Nintendo game and the other guy got the prize given by these 2 girls.
And to top it off, he's a britbong that looks like Billy Kane, bandana and all.
This is gold, thanks for sharing it.
>>
Gamesmaster was amazing, especially in the non internet days.
>>
>>3204115
Dave Perry was pretty well known in the gaming community back then. He held a number of video game records and launched a few videogame mags.

The fucking smug pisstaking from the shows host when Perry got beat just makes it all the more hilarious.
>>
>>3203128
This is terribly embarrassing. I can't believe the other fellow won because he managed to stay on the slide for twenty damn seconds.
>>
>>3203128
Do you think he's one of the people on /vr/ always complaining about Mario 64's camera?

Bad Influence was a great show. Mostly for Violet Berlin's tits.

The worst thing was the fact the studio was overrun with kids and most of the time, it was the KIDS who actually reviewed the fucking games.

"I liek dis game because you have to collect things. I liek collecting things."
>>
>>3204605
thats what makes it good, you can get any adults opinion after they dissect and overthink a retro game these days, it's amusing to see kids reactions when they were the newest cutting edge games

Anyone remember Twitch?

I can't find any clips of it on youtube. It was a pretty cool video game show when the PS1 and Saturn launched. I loved the shit out of it.

used to read digitiser and play bamboozle, there was couple of fun things on that teletext... better then the beebs ceefax pages,, remember when they would transmit the teletex before we had 24hr programmed broadcasting?

i believe some places still cant get channel 5.

i had to pick 4 channels or channel 5 on my crappy 14inch portable with built in hoop aerial.. couldnt get all 5 channels at once

I was going to mention Bits but decided against because the covered PS2, GameCube etc and people tend to lose their shit on /vr if it's not pure retro.

Kim Justice did a retrospective on this show. His other vids cover GamesMaster and Bad Influence in detail. I normally don't shill e-celebs but I watched these recently and figured they're worth mentioning.

Video and Arcade Top 10 was fucking garbage.

They had a deal with Nintendo, so they ONLY used Ninty consoles and games. Most of these games don't even work that well for competitive play. Especially compared to, say Arcade games. They kept with Ninty well into the N64 and NGC era, well past Nintendo's prime.

The kids were all random, and most had never played the game before. So they would just bungle around.

The prizes were like 10 dollar board games or other cheapo trash.

The worst is that the whole thing was a fucking bait and switch. The show is MOSTLY just ads for other things and using games to get attention. They'd take constant breaks from the games, and go to other co-hosts who would give you ads for random products or music.

The show straight up insults your intelligence.
>>
>>3208543
Holy shit, Mr Biffo was a fucking legend. This is the 1st time I've seen the guy behind it all.

Digitiser was like pirate radio. The internet before the internet. Such great memories. Thanks for posting.

Canadian Shows I remember from the 90's:

>Video and Arcade Top 10

Trash.

>The Electric Playground

Decent show with Tommy Talerico and Victor Lucas. Tommy is a bit of an idiot. I remember Tommy driving an F1 with other reviewers, and joking that game devs outright bribe reviewers with shit like this. It opened my eyes to the game review industry since that didn't sit right with me. I remember one Review on the Run where Victor and Tommy got into an argument about a budget title PS1 military game. They argued whether price should factor into a review, with Victor saying no, and the game was trash, with Tommy saying it wasn't bad for the low price offered.

>Bald head show

Some kind of Game news and review show. It was Canadian. Had a bald host. I think it had a few incarnations. They'd play a game each episode and review it, with giving it a grade on whether it's a buy, rental or avoid. I forget the name of this show. Anyone remember?

>The Anti-Gravity Room

Not game specific, but general "nerd" media. This was back before it was cool. Manga, sci-fi, anime, comics, video games. Hosted by several YTV personalities. I think that idiot Darron Jones was on that.

Flights of Fantasy is by far the best show ever. Although no one watched it at the time. It only became famous years later when they put the segments online under the title "Gaming in the Clinton Years".

George Wood is this out of touch low IQ old guy that they have reviewing video games.
