Not retro, but check out SNOW on steam - it's free. The beta is a bit buggy, but it's playable. So far there's only ski gameplay, snowboards and snowmobiles will be added in the next weeks(they said they'd add them a week ago, but nothing, so i guess they ran into some problems). It's comfy as fuck.

i used to play this at my friends house as a kid. it was fun as hell. sports games and wrestling games back then were really freaking good. wrestling games continued to be really good up into the 2010s. can't comment on their quality anymore. but i remember raw vs smackdown 2007 i believe being amazing with the wrestling classes. theres some alternative sports games still. they had those backbreaker football games or whatever. i dont know if theres anymore skating games out there since skate seemed to die.
