Bought a pic related used from local store cause it was cheap and I remember using a gameshark to manipulate addresses in smackdown 2 to create new moves/spliced animations. Thought it might let me play my Fire Pro Import. I was too optimistic and ignored the fact it says CD version and the store didn't have the cd. As far as I can tell it does nothing.

Those were used as gameshark cheats and for playing import Japanese titles.
I remember my best friends cousin would use this to play rival schools and street fighter alpha/zero 3
If you notice when you open your playstation on the upper right side there is a button when pushed down keeps your disc spinning.
Usually you would get a makeshift spring to keep it spinning while you switch the American game disc to the Japanese disc.

That's a plug mod. You can play burnt ges in a ps1 using the swap method. Bretty cool thought I was the only one with one left. Got it around 98 still works
