Thread for the lively discussion of arcade games and machines
do you like arcades ? come hang out !
>>
nowadays theres not many cabinets other than full body experiences or other kind of machines that you cant easily replicate in home systems.
do you happen to know a good arcade center? share it here !
>>
>set up GroovyMAME with crt_emudriver to output pure RGB signals to PVM
>have every single arcade game playable at native resolution and refresh rate
>only ever play Wonder Boy

>>

And I wonder why no one will make a Raspberry Pi style microcomputer that outputs a 15.7 KHz signal so I can put my 8" PVM in my car with its 12v DC input.

well at least theres the Banana Pi wich i believe has VGA.
whats the target audience of a 30€ mini computer when it requires a 100€ HDMI screen ? other than bored geeks
>>
why do the japanese arcades have 2 player mode in different cabinets instead of having both player controls on the same cabinet? and how does this system work?
Best regards

I wonder if Linux can make it spit out low-frequency progressive signals like 224p, 240p, 256p, 288p etc.

They became popularized around the time SF2CE was released. I'm guessing they give each player more room to maneuver and makes their actions less predictable to their opponents.
