Living room systems.

would be something on the SNES or N64 then, or PS if you're playing fast and loose. All systems beyond that emulate 2D visuals with parallel mapped textured polygons. The PS does too, but you could argue that due to its affine transform, it's better suited for 2D anyway.

If you don't give a shit about tile hardware, stuff as recent as the latest Raymans or various indie games are 2D all the way down.
