Hey bros, I can finally afford to move out and get my own place. Looking for ideas to get my game room up and running, like pic related (I don't have that many retro consoles though). Share your own for ideas.

I have a shelf to the left of my TV stand for all my games and controllers. Then my TV Stand has two rows with about 6 consoles on each row.
>>
>>3163179
Component consumer CRT (or PVM/BVM)
or LCD/Plasma with xrgb-mini or OSSC

Scart Switch
or Extron BNC Switch

buy all the cables and do your mods
done

Does it take a lot of space?
>>
>>3163185
I was thinking more along the lines of having it not look like a mess of cables and screens. Anyone can put a TV on top of a wooden box and plug a NES, not everyone can make it look decent and functional.
>>
>>3163193
?
you cant see the cords behind the TV?

>Take one deep shelving unit
>Add more shelves
>Cut holes in the back board (in the middle)
>One big one on the bottom
>Thats there everything comes to
>Have extension cable and multi socket also in there
>Also have the TV connection on a long cable
Cover that area, if it has a sliding door or draws its better

Its cheap, looks ok
Mines a mess due to consoles being lent out to various games events and being used on my games nights
>>
>>3163193
Have a big bit of wood (same colour as the wall) with legs on it at the back, hides the cables

If you're worried about exposed cords, just get a shelving unit with a back board and slip the wiring through holes cut into the back, or squeezed out the bottom/top(behind the tv)
>>
>>3163193
Build a shelving unit that looks like a western plywood arcade cabinet and have someone artistic do some retro inspired art on the side and make a marquee. This would probably be best for you since you seem like a poser.
>>
>>3163179
As per /vr/ ideals, you should have one tv per console. Anything less and you are a casual/reseller scum.
Sad but true.

It just takes up the left corner of my room.
>>
For starters get a CRT with RGB compatible SCART slots.
Mod and buy SCART cables for your consoles.
If you ever want to look like a decent humanbeing, get a shelf with a sliding door, a framemeister and ditch the CRT. Then you might actually not creep out the opposite sex.

Is there any good laserdisc anime?
>>
>>3165484
There is if you like dubs.
Subtitled localized animu is far and in between on LD.

That being said, you could rip the laserdisk and overlay your own subtites/audio

Speakers are the only good thing about that setup.

That TV is really dang high. My neck hurts just looking at it. It's cool minus that.
>>
>>3166968
That's not my setup but the way the TV is tilted it's pretty obvious it's meant for like a lounging or reclining chair setup.

I'll post mine once I've cleaned up a bit.

It was the only way to clear the speakers, If I put the tv in between you couldn't see it from the right couch. Bonus my toddler can't reach anything. Usually game in the loft and just watch movies down here. This is more the retron's domain. Here's more of the living room, older pic before I redid the shelves. Every seat reclines. and is comfy when >>3166979

had to google it, the openings don't seem big enough for the larger consoles. I am thinking of building something out of pallet wood to house all my stuff.
>>
>>3167168
The pallet wood meme needs to die. Do people realize just how shitty pallets are? They're made from low grade reject wood to begin with then they sit in warehouses or out in the sun for years turn into weak-brittle shit. They're dirty and won't ever get clean unless you do some serious scrubbing and even then you'll still have dirt in the dried out grain. Pallet wood can be structurally unsound having been eaten to shit by insects or worse, housing wasp nests. The wood looks like shit and won't ever look good unless you put a varnish on it which is an affront to the varnish, might as well go buy some cheap-ass pine from the hardware store reject bin.

I made 40 fucking tables out of pallets and have worked in warehousing. This fad of "repurposing" and "reclaiming" pallets (if you fucks weren't turning them into furniture they could be put back into business circulation and wouldn't need your reclaiming) really digs into my side. Any shitty plywood looks infinitely more refined.
