>be a kid
>your controller finally dies
>ask parents for new one for birthday/holiday whatever
>they get you a shitty 3rd party
Anyone else deal with this?
>>3160457
I vaguely remember getting third party shit when I was younger from friends at birthday parties.
>Here's your controller, bro!
>>3160480
>open christmas presents
>get this and cruisin usa
>t-thanks mom...
Ungrateful little fucks
>Parents poor
>Get Chinese Dinobot knock-offs for Christmas
>They're better than the real Dinobots
>Pay 10x the value of real Dinobots to replace them as an adult
>>3160498
>replace them as a manchild
>>3160508
Ignore this bait poster.
Here's your controller bro
>>3160457
>Be me
>get Playstation
>Megaman Legends later on
>Unplayable shit with no analog-stick support
>Receive Mad Catz Dual Force
>It lets me use left analog as a digital input and right analog as action buttons
>MML is actually playable, as are other 3D platformers.
I miss my old "Purple Bastard". Had great build-quality and features the Dual Shock didn't.
>>3160557
I feel like this would actually be a decent controller.
>>3160518
You're the one buying indisputable children s plastic playthings.
wtf do you do with them?
>>3160557
feels like pushing a wheelbarrow
>>3160602
The person you're replying to isn't me but I play with them. What do you do with your video games?
>>3160608
Video games aren't exclusively made for children.
Do you really sit there and tap them around making dinosaur noises?
>>3160613
Yup. I'm doing it right now. Does that trigger you?
>>3160557
Imagine, playing Smash Melee on this shit.
>>3160508
says the wealthy business man who probably has a $800 piece of fabric with ink over it, that is no more decorative than another like it that costs $100, only because of your perceived image, similar to how in adolescence we wanted to act and look in a certain way to be popular in school.
>>3160557
I got this to play Phantasy Star Online Episode 3.
This thing was fucking worthless to actually play with, it was only useful as a keyboard.
>>3160868
So this is an actual controller and not a photoshop? Woah...
>>3160913
>>3161037
>I always wanted one of these as a kid.
Leave now
We got this with our N64 for Christmas.
Nothing wrong with madcats. Especially their gamecube line.
>>3160489
ungrateful little kid.
>>3160457
My friend has one of these. What a magnificent piece of shit. The buttons felt awful, the stick was terrible, and the R and L buttons found a new way to be even worse than the regular ones.
>>3161364
Oh god, playing any game that required the middle stick must have almost been impossible.
>>3161394
It wasn't actually that bad, just not as springy as the genuine one. But there were sometimes arguments who's turn it is to have the proper pad.
>>3161392
>get something you can barely even use
u-ungrateful piece of shit right
>>3160457
I got one of these as a kid when I went to visit my dad for a weekend and brought the N64, he wanted to be able to play it with me. I wound up making my friend use it every time he came over to play, he must've hated me for it at the time.
>>3160613
>dat insecurity
>>3161408
>Can't play a racing game with an UltraRacer
>>3161059
Fuck off, oldfag. I was 7 for most of 2001 so 6th gen comprised most of my late childhood/tween years. I was still exposed to older games thanks to my parents and friends, and in 2000 I distinctly remember having an NES, SNES, N64, and even my own PC running Win98.
I know my experience isn't the same as people here who actually remember growing up in the 1990s, but even still, I have an appreciation for older games and that's what this board's about.
Anyway, all the controllers I remember using on pre 6th-gen systems were first party stuff, and it wasn't until around the early-mid 2000s that I really started to own any third party controllers, all of which were for at the time current gen systems. Most of them weren't bad, but I had an awful wireless Gamecube pad that really liked to decalibrate itself, and a wireless PS2 pad that had occasional connection issues.
Polite sage since most of this is off topic. I apologize for not having anything better to contribute.
>>3160457
Those controllers were good with the AKI wrestling games.
>>3160457
Not retro but the only third party controller I ever liked and still use today is the Pelican Snes Gamecube controller. It's a rip off of the Hori pad
but still works and feels great for fighting games
I think I bought it for Cvs2 at the time.
>>3160508
Says the guy posting on a board Predominantly filled collectors.
A lot of people who collect videos games from their childhood also collect toys from their childhood as well.
>>3161373
I actually had that one and it wasn't TOO horrible, but not as good as the real thing still.
the n64 controller is already pretty garbage to begin with
>>3160457
No. I bought all my own stuff. You're lucky they got you anything at all you little shit.
Any godlike controllers? I kinda want this one
>>3162961
Or this
had this bastard right here
couldn't say where I got it
or where it went, for that matter
