Does anyone own one of these that could take some specific close up photos for me?

Sorry, all I have are some close-up photos of the Jaguar CD.

>>3155256
Could one actually play Jaguar games on it?
>>
>>3155276
Is that a serious question?
>>
>>3155276
Yes but unfortunately the only game that works is a shitty one where you take pictures of teeth.
>>
I have one. It's quite dusty and in a box under another box right now. What do you need?
>>
>>3155338
I need some close up images of the cartridge slot, and I need some images of the front of the system and bottom of the system.

I'm modeling an Atari Panther and can't find good references of the Jaguar.
>>
>>3155347
Huh? That's quite a hobby.

Well you know, I want to make replicas of all the main cancelled/failed systems at some point.
>>
>>3155256
Wait what the fuck
>>
>>3155415
Are you going to make them able to play games? Like make a Sega Neptune plays Genesis games?
>>

>>3155420
I already have a Sega Neptune able to play games.
>>
>>3155420
>>3155441
But to expand on that point, I don't know if I'll be able to put the guts of a Jaguar in the Panther model, so I may have to do some extra modding and just create some custom internals for it. The hardest part and most annoying part is going to be the front loading cartridge slot, I'll need to rig up something that angles the pins like the N64 72 pin adapter.
>>
>>3155445
Hopefully you get what you need, OP. Bumping and monitoring
>>
>>3155445
My overall goal is to be able to get these into 3D printers and produced for collectors and fans.

They may not have the actual guts that way, but at least people can have a replica of the console as it would have existed.
>>
>>3155441
That's amazing. How did you make the shell?
>>
>>3155476
I don't want to shill here, I just wanted pictures lol. I'll clue you in that it was just some molding based on the Neptune images over a Genesis Model 2, though.
>>
>>3155480
Shill away my friend, this shit is cool.

A-are you coming back

I know it's a lot of work but no one else seems to have a Jaguar
>>
>>3155476
Just do a reverse image search for that picture and it leads you to a blog about how it was made.
>>
>>3155417
When the jaguar flopped atari sold the molds for the system to a company that made dental equipment.
>>
Thanks anyway /vr/. I guess it's a good thing no one has a Jaguar.

I got it out and gave it a quick brush down and wipe unfortunately my battery is too low to use the flash right now but I'll charge it up some. The cartridge slot is definitely weird.
>>
>>3155687
Oh shit. Cool. I need some directly in the slot.
>>
>>3155276
No, it just uses the mold plates to make the casing. The internals are completely different.

>>3155441
Slick.
>>

Jaguar had a better Doom port.
>>
>>3156080

>>
>>3156080
Why would you play console Doom?
>>
>>3156529
Fuck off PC cuck.
>>
>>3156520
True, but the game runs very well.

>>3156529
Curiosity, mainly.
Also it made more sense back in the day, many people didn't have a PC, and the amazing N64 and PSX ports weren't around yet.
The 32X port wasn't actually too shabby (if you turn off the fart music) but the cost of a 32X was unjustifiable, putting that money into getting a PC and then Doom would be a better use of your money.

>>3156549
Stop that.

Okay in the light with the flash the cartridge slot looks pretty gross but I didn't have a narrow, stiff brush to really get down in the cracks so please overlook my mediocre clean up job. If I were photographing it for aesthetics I'd have just used natural light but this illustrates what anon is looking for better.

Sure but it's the way the slot is curved in the front that's most unusual and the other angle best illustrates that.
>>
>>3157415
Wet an old Tshirt with isopropyl alchohol and wrap it around a credit card.

Insert the credit cart into the slot several times. Just up and down motions not side to side.

Use a cotton swab stick dipped in isoproplyl alcohol to clean around the slot.

WTF? Did someone mistake it for a toilet and take a shit in the cartridge slot?
>>
>>3157415
OP here. This pic helped, but, holy shit is that nasty.

I don't even know how that could get that nasty. Dust for years plus decay in a box?
>>
>>3157685
>>3157727
That's why every slot compartment on a console has a shield.
>>
>>3157727
>I don't even know how that could get that nasty. Dust for years plus decay in a box?
to me it looks more like dead bugs and shit, like the thing was in someones musty garage for years and OP bought it and never thought to clean it.
>>
>>3157734
This. I considered storing it with a cart in it but decided if I wanted to use it again I'd rather possibly need to clean it thoroughly vs reconditioning the pins. Also a cart sticking out would have offered leverage to break solder joints if it got jostled. I actually had paper stuffed in there but it came out because of that stupid curved side.
>>
>>3157759
Nah I've had it since it was relatively new. It's not bugs it's just dust and cardboard bits plus moisture
>>
>>3157767
Yeah you let that shit rot, lol. Not that I blame you, the Jaguar sucked.
>>
>>3155597
And now some faggot who will never use them for anything good owns them.

nah bro, you kept it somewhere unfavorable (with bugs and moisture)

Pic related, my atari jag. notice how there aren't dead bug carapaces and very little rust.
>>
>>3158063
Also notice how you weren't here to hook the Anon that needed the pics up with them. I said that it was in a box in the basement what the fuck do you want from me? Jesus.
>>
>>3157942
Their scam isn't working out, the mold plates will likely be passed on to someone else so the guy can cover some inevitable debt.
>>
>>3158063
I'm working with dead bug carapace anon's image. Thanks for showing up ten days later with the same sideways image I requested the other anon fix, though.

This is why I need a straight on/head on angle.

>>3158395
I still appreciate what you did, it was great. This anon didn't even do the proper angle.

The cartridge slot also appears to be screwed on, so maybe it's removable.
