But i want to use composite, its cheap and good enough for what i want to do with the consoles. Reminds me pleasantly of the dank cyberpunk-aspiring basement where I spent my teenage years.

I'm above ground now, but I too am a projector user. Do you use a VGA hookup for your dreamcast? Composite anything is disgusting on my projector, so I mostly use a CRT security monitor for /vr/ stuff.
>>
>>3132830
Yeah it's VGA. That's why I had it on because it's the only progressive scan /vr/ console. The projector can do 240p RGB as well but I haven't constructed a SCART cable for it.

Room space is non existent In that room ha, I do agree though. Maybe I can figure something out, it's pretty much an accumulation of everything I've ever owned growing up so the display process hasn't been on the forefront, especially when I'm rarely there during university. I bought that one on eBay and picked it up to avoid shipping. I also have a 20" in the basement that I got for $1 plus $40 shipping then ended up getting for free because the seller shipped me a different, rougher monitor than the one in the auction I'm guessing he was unhappy with my purchase price but that was his fault for starting at $1 with no reserve.

Tbh, I am considering selling mine. I find retro computers more interesting. I will keep my 2600 though.

>>
>>3137702
I was never much of a Nintendo/sega guy but I had the nes and snes for a few years.
>>
>>3137708
Oh it had to be over 25 games.
I got it all from a garage sale for like ten bucks.
>>
>>3137708
And i would hold on to it. I forgot all about it until recently, and I regret it now so vehemently. Think I was like 15 at the time I sold it all. Stupid shit. I hope I didn't buy weed with the money.
>>
>>3137717
Nowadays you could have sold it for a few hundred! In seriousness though, it is a nice console but it is best to sell popular consoles after a time to ensure that people can still get one.
>>
>>3137707
Pros
>Real furniture
>Classic bike and proper lock
>Sound system perfect--I hope you have good taste in music
>Receiving over-the-air television like a civilized person

Cons
>Questionable decorating--where's the color? Why is everything beige?
>Unfortunate blinds, curtains, and A/C unit
>Antenna alignment questionable--generally you want to form a plane with the "ears" perpendicular to the direction of your local transmitters.

And that Panasonic(?) unit under the TV: is that a VCR or a Laserdisc player? It looks like a VCR, but it's huge!

Thanks for the itemization review. Lets get to it:
Beige carpets and walls were out of my control via landlord. The rest of the colors I take responsibility for.
I have no idea how an atenna works and I'm glad you pointed it out.
The Panasonic is a VCR, from early 2000s, the last functional one I own (out of maybe 15 units)

>>
>>3137890
You know, you aren't the first person who has said that to me. Maybe they were really commonly available in chain electronics stores in a certain era, so now everyone has one. I don't know where they were sold, originally. I got mine from a nice old middle eastern man running a semi-sketchy electronics warehouse.
>>
>>3137812
Pros:
>Real hardware
>Appears clean and tidy
Cons
>Teensy tv
>Looks like an elementary classroom
>A horse dick hanging out under your rug.
>Yellow Altec Lansing pc speakers

bigger tv and better cable routing would be a good start

>>
>>3137936
There's nothing wrong with even 10" PVMs you just get "cozy" with it. It's the 5" size where it starts getting silly how close you would need to be but unlike commercial TVs the fidelity doesn't decrease with small size.

I swear to god, if ANY of you are using composite cables... I fucking hate you so much.

Oh shit, son. I have your receiver. Awesome setup, by the way.

Personally, though, I just plugged a computer into my LCD television with HDMI. Then I got a USB extension cord and plugged in my DualShock 4 to use a controller. Then I sit back, play some games. It feels alright.

No disrespect to anyone, but being 31 I didn't really enjoy having to use CRT televisions and monitors. I have much less eye strain with LCD after lengthy sessions on the computer.
