I never understood all the hate for 5.

Also 4 is my favorite one.
>>
>>3123457
Honestly, I don't even remember why I hate 5. I guess that's kinda the problem.
I can remember certain stages in 4 that made be dislike it but I don't think I can even name a single robot master from 5.

5 was great.

Yeah kind of. If you wanna support Megaman in PC and wanna get the original version of everygame, than this is the thing for you. Otherwise you can emulate them.

5 had shitty weapons. The upgraded mega buster ndbeat save the game.
>>
>>3124328
5 also had really great level design, and the protoman stages are wicked
>>
>>3123598
First Mega Man game I ever played when I was 4 years old. Can't help it.
>>
I love the charge shot in 5, it is badass. Some levels and music is very bland but it is a fun one to play. I think its underrated. BEAT is also amazing

6 is quite underrated as well but there are some annoying aspects to it. I like the jetpack and the Power mega man suits. Most of the weapons and bosses are kind of lame though

2 is very easy, but hell its still a whole lot of fun to play. The fact that its really easy to breeze through doesn't mean anything. Still an amazing game with god-like music

1 and 3 are pretty good but honestly 3 might be one of my least favorites. Has some great music and nice levels/weapons but something about it just annoys me. 1 is still a classic and has some challenging levels

4 is one of my favorites. Has charge shot, slide, interesting bosses and great music (pharoah mans stage is amazing)

I guess I'd rate them like this

>>
>>3123457

The level design in 5 is too straightforward. Most Mega Man levels have a unique challenge to face, whereas a lot of 5 (besides Wave and Gravity Man) is just run right and shoot. To see the difference, play IV on the Game Boy. It remade some of the levels in 5 and they're a lot better.

6 was better with this. Too bad it has noenemies.

here's an unrelated question, why did they make mega man look like such a tard in SF x tekken?
>>
>>3124540
Why would you not use the weapons? Do you really only play Megaman games buster only?
>>
>>3123457
5: Bland stage design, low challenge level (things perk up a little in the Proto Man stages, but not much), terrible weapons, mostly forgettable music, everything looks pastel and candy-like.
>>
>>3123843
For less than $15 you can get the PS2 Anniversary Collection, which also includes 7, 8, and the two arcade games.

It's a "reference" to the art on the American release of MM1.

Personally, I think Capcom holds Mega Man and his fans in all-but-open contempt.
>>
>Those stupid fucking children that actually like the addition of the charge shot.
>>

Because you're not hardcore if you don't play your games in the most bland and dull ways possible.
>>
>>3123423
>objective
you mean subjective, right?

becuase when you really break it down from an unbiased opinion... 2 is shit, about as shit as 1. its broken as fuck, its bland in level design, only 2 bosses have strategy that doesnt involve metal blade, u can select easy casual mode from start, and the only plus is music.

i own all 6, got 4-6 as a kid, got 1-3 in middle school in 1999 for $20 each, in box, before nostalgia got her bitch ass hands on them. Playing MM2 for the first time back then felt like a step backwards. it still feels that way.

I love those games equally with unbias love towards one over the other. But if I had to list them in order, 2 wouldnt even be in the top 3.

6 annoys me as you have to choose between doing the levels in a certain order for all the beat pieces or going back through the level again.

Not that anon but it really doesn't add much depth to the games. iirc it only did the equivalent damage of like 2 or 3 uncharged shots so it wasn't that necessary to use except for the few gimmicky enemies you have to use charge shot on (after 5 it did have more vertical range at least). You're only at a slight advantage holding charge shot at the cost of listening to the charge sound that gets annoying after a while. To be fair though sliding didn't change a whole lot either, but at least it's more fun to goof around with.
>>
>>3130618
It's really only a problem from 5 on, but the charge shot is annoying and really reductive of the game when you give the player a weapon that does 3 damage for free.

Also has the best graphics for an NES Mega Man game.

Mega man 3 is so overrated.

I agree.. i'd prob swap 5 and 6 but that ranking is spot on imo.. 5 has mediocre music and level designs but it is still fun to play, more than 6
>>
>>3133327

Funny how having a more moderate and managable difficulty level makes people like a game more, right? Contrary to what you probably think, the quality of a game does not scale with it's difficulty.
>>
>>3133162
> what stands out in 4?

It has the most well-rounded weapon pool in the series, second only to 9.

I liked 6 because of the branching level designs (a first for the Megamans) and the day/night transitions after beating a boss was a neat touch. Also merging with Rush was awesome. The boss designs were kinda lame though.

Branching levels were arguably in the series from the beginning when you had things like Flash Man's stage. 6 just made it more explicit.

Duck that trash. Emulate anniversary edition on PCSX2. If you on a toaster, this game plays best under D3D9 software mode anyway.

The anniversary edition is a fucking mess and the games aren't the same as the originals. The only "benefit" it has are that it has 7 and 8.

Those are my favorites too and X8 is not bad. It's seems that every other one seems to have a flaw that makes replaying them a chore, X3 is not that bad in that regard but it has some glaring desing issues.
