Law & Order CI had at least 2 episodes involving retro-ish games.
The one I remember is the season 3 episode called "F.P.S."
The fictional game however was not a fps, but a mortal combat inspired game.
Goren figured out the gaming angle when a co-worker overheard the victim being threatened over the phone to have her "head put on a stick."

he covers his sons eyes while they play.

that scene is a classic example of tonys character - he will do anything to win even if it means cheating, even if it's just a kids game against his own son. he has to win.

It's a common theme throughout the series, and that scene (while playful and innocent) actually represents tony as a person completely.

British TV series "Spaced". Episode 3, the character played by Simon Pegg has been playing Resident Evil 2 and then starts hallucinating about real life zombies.

I remember people talking about this tv show where this kid was arrested for murder or something, but he didn't do it.
then years later he gets released and he goes home, checks out his little brother's room.
and he looks at an ipod and an ipad and a tiny ass laptop. and he doesn't know what to do with it.

so he goes up to the attic and finds a big box of his old stuff, from right before he went to jail.
you see him put on a 90s shirt, and he's sitting in the attic playing Sonic on his Genesis.

Anyone remember what show that was? was sad as fuck.

And to follow up, go fuck yourself:

"Rapping can be delivered over a beat or without accompaniment. Stylistically, rap occupies a gray area between speech, prose, poetry, and singing. The word (meaning originally "to hit")[8] as used to describe quick speech or repartee predates the musical form.[9] The word had been used in British English since the 16th century. It was part of the African-American dialect of English in the 1960s meaning "to converse", and very soon after that in its present usage as a term denoting the musical style.[10] Today, the terms "rap" and "rapping" are so closely associated with hip-hop music that many use the terms interchangeably."

Emilio Estevez plays a fictional game called "Bishop of Battle."
When he gets the high score the game comes to life to destroy Emilio.
Emilio survives, but his career does not.

And there you have it. It's not like rap music has ever been high quality, you know.

I loved how he'd play Tomb Raider just to drown Lara whenever he was pissed about his ex.
>>
>>3124109
I watched that episode only a few days ago

My favourite part is when he's playing Tomb Raider and his neighbour comes in:
"She drowned, is that the aim of the game"
"Depends how you're feeling"
>>
>>3129176
It's just the easiest source to find, I know it's not law but this is such a cut-and-dry thing that I thought it was sufficient. I didn't feel like digging through my textbooks from the rap courses I took in college.

Ironing of ironings. When this was filmed, that was a $6 clearance-bin POS the prop department probably only grabbed because "big box=big bucks" and they were trying to depict a "high-end" toystore. Nowadays it is a big bucks game because people discovered it after Smash.

Was been rewatching Gargoyles and this just came up. Props to the sound designer who also used actual video game sound effects that were more recent than Atari.

God damn Oz is such a great show.. Adabesi was the funniest

Would a jail actually allow their prisoners to play PC games in the US tho?
>>
>>3132343
Wasn't the point of that episode was to not be a fucking loser and play video games all the time?
>>
Fuck, man. It's as if rhythm and poetry was just a complete afterthought of this new-wave way of speaking prose over beats..
>>
>>3131237
Yes, that is indeed what it looks like. I haven't done a 1:1 comparison, but yeah. Again, they probably used it since it works better for the scene than a US Zapper. Guess hoodrats liked to import their consoles back in the day.

There was also one that came out about a year ago that was (poorly) based on Gamergate. One of the perps tried to kill one of the detectives, but the detective was a gamer himself and could tell the perp was camping.

They were playing Return Fire in the arcade (!) in that one movie about a hipster going in the army. It had a came with Link (from Encino Man).

goddamnit I loved that movie as a kid, must've watched it a hundred times, and I can't even remember its name.

the eject button on the SNES actually isn't necessary. it's basically just like the NES's connector except you're able to pop it out for convenience.
>>
>>3140608
you're having to put repeated force on the console either against it or just rattling it. the button cuts down wear and tear.
