Battle Garrega was and still is better than Batrider. I'll just leave this up here...
How so? Soundtrack, artstyle, gameplay?
For one thing, the colorful graphics for Batrider obscured a lot of the bullets. Not to mention BG's OST was a LOT better, especially in the stage where you take down all the cargo planes one after the other. The art style for BR was nice, I admit. Garrega felt a lot more satisfying to play through.

Battle Garegga had amazing music, the Mahou Daisakusen cast (Gains or Miyamoto are amazing on C mode), and the rank is way too smart, and the game was overall a major hype fest. I never played Batrider but i'd like too in the near future. But BG>DDP and Ikaruga

Neither did most people, it has not console port.
I'm saying Garegga is the most explored, most replayed of the two and therefore perceived as better.
Used to love DDP in the arcade, though I liked Ketsui better. I can't say BG is better or worse than DDP, I love them both equally.
what about the sequel?

Just got it and first impressions, its easier than BG and i like the fact that you the BG and MD cast in the game using the konami code. Music is enjoyable but nothing as amazing as BG. I'll have to play more of it. Seems fun.

I assume that when you compare music you're comparing the Saturn redbook arrange of Garegga with the yamaha sound of Batrider.

I lied 2nd stage of Batrider was meh but Stage 1, 3, and 4 are very good. Also the remix of BG Boss theme was amazing and no just comparing the Yamaha sounds together. But the arranged version of BG is ok the artist who did it were top tier but i prefer the Yamaha. So far i'm really liked Batrider. Graphics are very nice as well should of mentioned that and the Bullet issue from Garegga is gone.

Nope It's my first time playing the game. I'll link the songs that really stood out for me. I'm really digging the game. Playing it on Normal as well. I'm doing crappy tho.

Also if you're playing on mame I recommend enabling cheats, it can write your rank value on the screen for you and saves you the trouble of entering a million button codes to access the extra consent.

I disagree. You're probably just butthurt that the bosses are generally harder in Batrider.

Can someone gimme a tier list for Batrider?
a) tier list for scoring

b) tier list for 1cc
Garegga is fantastic but so is Batrider. Didn't like Bakraid that much.
