I'm looking for something on SNES or Genesis akin to Elder Scrolls Arena. I want to explore(preferably in first person) and go on a sprawling adventure. I'm not sure if anything on those systems exist, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks.

Get Elminage Original. Go for the European ISO, I believe it's patched. It's Wizardry in everything but name.

I remember it being pretty buggy on my slim but Ultima 7 The Black Gate has a port to psp. Look for Exult - someone here as put everything together: http://www.theisozone.com/downloads/playstation/ps2-homebrew/exult-psp/

This is the closest you're going to get. A trippy buggy C+ computer game that's hard to control and half broken on 16-bit consoles.
