Playing up to a certain sections?

- Reading: Playing up to a certain sections?
Anyone else just playing up to certain sections of this game then restart to play it from the start afterwards?
I don't know about Tomb Raider but that's how I play most of my arcade games.
I don't hate Xen like some people, but when I replay Half-Life 1 I usually stop after I reach the final lambda outpost. I don't even do the "defend the teleporter" bit.

I can't seem to go further than the Sable Lowlands in Ogre Battle 64. I try so hard to farm all four mantles and usually get sick of rolling the RNG.

I got severly lost at that point where you are in a hotel or something and need to alternate between three levels to progress. Had to restart to understand where i'm supposed to go. Lost interest when I reached said area
