What's the hardest minigame you've ever faced?
Did you beat it?
Put that shit behind spoilers, OP.
I just had a Nam flashback to that shit.
Not /vr/ but true nonetheless.
If /vr/ minigames only, probably the races in San Andreas.

it's been ten years and i still do

the fuck, it just posted cut off
It's been ten years and I still don't understand this.
>>3099073
>San Andreas
Not retro either, kiddo.
>>3099064
I wouldn't say it's hard exactly, you just need to be able to mash the button extremely fast. But I resorted to using a palm sander to get past the torture sequence when I played MGS on Extreme.

>Don't use autofire, or i'll know
> - Ocelot
I never actually tested it but I assumed the game was detecting button presses at the same constant frequency so it could counter the autofire controllers.
So how the hell did you pull it off with with a palm sander.
Was that little cunt Ocelot bluffing ?
>>3099197
I don't know how it detects if you had autofire, but Ocelot didn't notice anything. It was pretty funny actually, trying to do it manually I could barely last a second before the stamina bar depleted. With the sander it never went down at all.
Not the hardest, but the goron dancing game from Oracle of Ages is the worst.
>>3099236
Yeah I never bothered with the harder modes in 2. 3's were pretty great though. 3 was the MGS peak for me. Well, that and Ghost Babel.
>>3099197
He's bluffing I'm sure, I've never seen any evidence to the contrary.
>>3099197
I had a controller with turbo and auto-fire. He couldn't tell either of them. Just a bluff.
>>3099064
The shitty fucking card game from FF9. It looked like 8's card game but played like shit. Had all those cryptic alphanumerics at the bottom of each card, and even after learning what all of them meant and how they worked, it ended up 75% of the game was chance anyways. Fuck that garbage. It was seriously the corn on top of that shit game.
>>3100672
>turbo and auto-fire
Is there a difference?
>>3100681
Turbo: You press the button and it keeps re-pressing it quickly.
Auto-fire: you flip the switch and leave the room, it keeps re-pressing.
>>3099064
the cart/skateboarding bullshit in Young Merlin
>>3099064
Beaver Bother
is Down the Tubes a mini-game?
any of the ones from DK64
>>3100698
Makes sense
>>3100676
The worst bit wasn't the card game being dull and unsatisfying to play, but the fact that the FF8 one was awesome and they missed the change to just put it in with new monsters and characters and a couple of new local rules maybe
>>3100760
There're plenty other chances for Down-the-tubes-am-I-right-posting, man
Not skippable? Not a minigame
>>3100739 >>3100848
Fuck slide races and fuck this beetle and his beetle laughter
>>3100704
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK THIS! Young Merlin was frustrating as fuck in general, I don't think i've ever beaten it.
The headbutt minigame in Demon's Crest is a real load of ass.
>>3101527
I used to think it was hard. later I realised it was just poorly made. such a joyless game.
>>3099584
The dancing minigame in Seasons is actually kinda fun. It's much less strict and the button presses are on a constant tempo.
>>3099064
Demon's crest skull bashing Lv3 mini game.

> realised
> rationalized
Fixed that for ya
>>3099064
I know it isn't even close to being actually hard or anything, but the analog stick in my hand-me-down N64 claw was super wobbly, and this one really stumped me for a while
(It's super easy and quite fun in the 3DS version with the gyroscope-based aiming, btw)
>>3101592
Well the n64 controller us known for by being a failure. Good thing it haven't been replicated.
>>3101616
>Well the n64 controller us known for by being a failure
N64 controller with a non-broken stick is perfectly fine. Great, even.
>>3100704
that's not a mini game.
>>3101592
At first glance I thought this was a screenshot of a Half-Life mod
