It was literally Running in the 90's: the driving RPG, what's not to like?
I like it but it fucks with me in the worst way that japanese RPGs ever do in that I can grasp enough of the story that I don't want to read FAQs due to spoilers but if I don't read the FAQs I trigger events at the wrong time before I "grind" enough from random headlight races OR I trigger events in the wrong order and "fail" which was frustrating because it took a while to get used to the save game mechanics too. I should really go back and give it another spin because the gameplay is so cool.

Nah, the story unfolds through bigass cinematic interludes so you can just read translations of those and the rest of the game doesn't require you to understand the dialog just to memorize the menus and mechanics.

I was about to pass on it when I read "AESTHETEEEEK" on OP, don't care about hipster stuff, but I checked it and it has actually nice graphics for a PS1 game, doesn't look "90s" to me though, looks just like driving around Tokyo, which is great.
Unfortunately it looks too slow and boring, and those birds eye sections look not fun at all.
Am I wrong?

From what I see on Youtube, this game looks nicer than Gran Turismo, so I'll definitely play it. Is the lack of a translation a big deal? Seems most of the menus are English anyways.
