>>

Here's a (You) and a tip

I didn't like how this game made you go through the same stages except in reverse.
>>
>>3084190
Pretty much, the arcade version though.

>>3084339
I agree, cheap way to make it longer.

Parodius>Gradius

Only weeaboos of the homosexual persuasion prefer Parodius to Gradius.
>>
>>3084534
The correct opinion.
>>
I thought Gradius III was considered the best
>>
>>3085153

It is but it's also the most popular and /vr/ will never accept the most popular to be the best, they have to go for the most obscure, japan-only if possible.
>>
>>3085153
3 has always been really controversial. Lots of people consider it to be a poorly programmed, overly difficult mess, others consider it to be a masterful challenge for hardcore players. Then the SNES version is practically a different game, and is also controversial. Lots of people consider it to be a much more reasonable and playable game than the original, while others consider it to be a dumbed-down babby mode game.
>>
>>3085169

so it's either too hardcore or not hardcore enough
>>
>>3085173
More or less, yeah.

It's even funnier when you read developer interviews and realize that "Gofer" is not just a random bit of Engrish, they intentionally did name the big bad that way with the knowledge that it meant "errand boy".

Gradius II was a huge improvement over the first game, but the MSX trilogy added even more mechanics, like the ability to assimilate new upgrades from enemy warships. See >>3084283

Nemesis '90 Kai is tragically overlooked since it saw limited distribution through a platform that's pretty obscure outside of Japan. If I'm not mistaken, it might have been included in one of the Gradius PSP collections though.

II > IV > I > Gaiden > III > shit > V
>>
>>3085210
It doesn't sadly. the Salamander Collection has MSX Gradius II though
>>
>>3084190
iv and gaiden are best imo with 2 closely behind. Unlike most of the nob jockeys here i've actually looped them all.
>>
>>3085434
congrats man youre soooo cooool! can i have your autograph?
>>
>tfw the only gradius i can clear is the first one

how to git gud?
>>
>>3087385
How can you clear Gradius 1 and not 2?
Gradius 2 (at least the NES version) is by far the easiest Gradius. Maybe Slowdius 3 for the SNES is almost as easy.
>>
>>3087395
Not him, but I'm in the same boat. I've completed Gradius without a continue but to me Gradius II is hard as shit.
>>
>>3085154
the fuck are you talking about, if anything III is the most infamous in the series, IV is the "obscure" one.
