There are some reports that this mod actually has a virus in it but might just be a false positive. Unfortunately it looks like it's the only way to play Goldeneye at 60fps. Anybody have any experience with it?

There's word that if a patch can be developed to disable all of the anti-aliasing system calls in a Goldeneye ROM it *might* be possible to play the game 60fps on the real console.
>>3082872
Would that be a rom patch or could it be done on something like an action replay?
>>3082864
>kbm
So long as you know that's cheating we're good :^]. Goldeneye's design and difficulty was made for analog controls. Kbm pretty much breaks the game because it makes it far too easy and redundant.

Some textures look better without the AA but everything else looks pretty bad, IMO.

Honestly, all I really want is that nice 60fps. I mastered Goldeneye on 1.2 controls back in the day so I don't mind playing it with a controller.
Does anyone have any idea how the guy was able to get 1080p 60fps? The game runs at original speed so it's not like the emulator was set to 200% or anything.

It's not just AA he's getting rid of here, but a whole bunch of other filters, like those that camouflage the banding / grid pattern. Some of those filters are *free* so it doesn't cost the system anything to keep them on, and I'd say some of them do look better on.
None of the AA codes fully removed AA though since the N64 has one genuine AA mode that isn't a mere filter that can be toggled on/off but a more sophisticated edge AA process. But supposedly that will be able to be turned off once somebody develops a process that scans the ROM and removes the function calls to that particular type of AA.
how the fuck did they do this?
I knowSuper Mario Sunshinegot a 60fps patch some time ago (see jul.rustedlogic.net/thread.php?id=17475), but damn, N64?
I guess the guys are like super good at ROM hacking or something.

>what is 007 difficulty
>>3084691
Been researching this for some time now and I found out that the mouse injector mod is using a version of PJ64 called Project 64 Ultrafast, which overclocks the emulator, making games run at 60fps.
who still playing Goldeneye 007 with mates?
i still do
>>3086375
but it's 1964
Here it is if somebody wants to try it:

Meh. It's not fun.
gunplay in all source mods feels the same to me after playing so many mods
>>3082896
This is really fucking cool.
I know this is wanting too much but, if this was playable with 60fps with kb+m online, man, I'd go back to playing FPS online.
Them proximity mines man, them proximity mines.
>>3082864
I made something like this back in 2008 by hooking into an emulator and directly altering the position and input values. Hacky as fuck though; good to see someone's done a decent job of it.
>>3087158
Just wondering but did you ever upload that to Underground Gamer?
I remember trying out an older version of this that I got from someone on there years ago, this is what the mouse injector program looked like before a ROM was loaded.

If you really want to, you could do this. It requires some work though...
1964 Ultrafast for 60fps
N-Rage plugin for KB/M
Kaillera Goldeneye server - 69.90.34.38
Highly doubt anyone's online though haha.
>>3087243
scratch that, i'm not sure if ultrafast would work in split screen

>What is Multiplayer
>>3086387
that looks great. is it mp only? looks it, too bad.
>>3088628
It's multiplayer only, but you can play with bots if you want. Once upon a time when GE: Source was popular, the modders said they were planning on eventually adding a single player campaign mode, but it's been years since they mentioned it and nobody really plays the game anymore.
I hate that about multiplayer games, you're always relying on others. Even for really popular games today, give it a few years and typically everything will have changed and it'll be just a few hardcore guys. It's not like single player that you can come back to with nostalgia, more like surprise and sadness at where everyone's gone.
>>3082896
Hell yeah, stuff like this has intrigued me for the longest time
I wonder what Goemon or Bomberman Hero would look like without AA. I've seen a few pictures of OoT without it and proved to be interesting.

[proximity mines] + {facility}
[grenades] + {archives}
[rocket launchers] + {temple}
<license to kill> + [pistols/knifes/slappers only] + {complex}
Damn, i really, really love goldeneye 007.
>>3082896
I kinda like the no AA look. Sure it looks more pixellated, but I'd definitely take that over the N64's vaseline filtering.
Is there a way to play 60fps 1080P OOT
007 needs to consolidate its' game presence with some sort of superb engine with sequels every other year or something
i want cs styled 007 games and a goldeneye replica to go with it with a xbox counterpart
goddamn it am i lucky to be a bond or what
>>3090701
I think one day there will be a big game revival co-ordination community where every week or month a new game is picked, and loads of new players will get on it and fill the servers.
>>3087180
Nah, I had a sendspace link in the Youtube video description that went dead after my hard drive with the original fried. Never saw that one, though. How well did it work?
just made a quick walkthrough with this build >>3086383 (You)
