ITT: post some of your favorite game maps

Well, I annotated my Ultima Underworld maps, but never to that level.
I'm sure we've all spent time looking at the Super Metroid and Castlevania maps.

I love seeing 3D renders of maps which the game gave you as 2D. Ian Albert did a bunch of these for Doom and Doom 2, pic related

I'd also like to see Descent's maps rendered better than wireframe
great map to start with, simple, useful info, tilted.
no coordinates, but game window tittle shows position, and mapping tools pinpoints you,

translucent walls so that you instantly know what is going in front, but woudnt get umch better
Let's not forget the ever-controversial map of the third dungeon in the legend of Zelda
>>3056549
>controversial
always relevant
What happened to the anon mapping Warlocked?
>>3056140
>>3057143
>downscaled
No, this does not expand dong.
>>3057216
it's as big as this "game" deserves, if not a bit too big
Such a fun world to explore. Not nearly as many secrets as Zelda 1, but it made up for it by having actual towns and caverns you could enter.

This really aligns my QPUs.
>>3056549
it's a manji
>>3057834
He said maps, not memes.
>>3057996
Nothing wrong with memaps.
>>3056140
so many unnecessary notes, you have to be retarded not to have the first level memorized anyway
>>3057816
This. I love how it contained and expanded upon the first game's map.
>>3056564
aaaaaaaaaa man it's so nice to see that map
>>3056140
I loved progression of the map in King's Field. At first you have no map, then you get limited map, then full map, then no map at all again on the most complex level.
>>3059071
What's this?
>>3059085
maps, probably anon's favorites, too
>>3059086
No shit! I meant what game was it
>>3056549
dont fret guys, he actually meant controversial is the argumentation that spurs, and not the fact of a game using a manji
>>3061057
when you played Metroid 1, did you do any manual mapping, or was it all in your head?
>>3056384
>>3061068
>>3061062
manual mapping is part of the game to me. Using a pre-existing map is like using GameFAQs in a Zelda game. What's the fucking point?
>>3061098
>Using a pre-existing map
No no, not that. I meant manual mapping vs. mental mapping. Did you map out Metroid on paper, or did you just remember where to go?

Nice scare quotes.
>>3061224
they're just normal quotation mark glyphs, you can probably type them straight away with your keyboard
Iron Sword on NES. It show your progress like Ghould and Ghost.
>>3061589
I'm glad they spelt out that it's "The Map". I would have been completely lost otherwise
>>3061594
Hmmm. I am all about artistic expression but that is really an overworld and not a map.
>>3061607
the wiggly lines below the island, aren't they maps? Looks like platforming levels from really far away
>>3061594
>spelt
