Best rain effect in a classic game? Other meteorological phenomena are fine as well, either 2D or 3D
Let's get this out of the way though

Well you killed the thread with your image, OP
Zozo always impressed me. It was the first time I'd seen rain in an RPG. It was pretty amazing for the time.
It's far from being the best rain effect but I like the way wet condition changes your car handling in Driver 1/2.

The beginning of LTTP and when you go in the palace and you can still hear it, muffled.

Holy shit man, that slowdown. And I only ever bought 2, so I dealt with that all the way through to the last level.

Glorious cinematic 9fps, anon
What game op?
>>3028907
King of Fighters '99

>>3029030

top kek
It has to be harvest moon for me.
>no music plays on rainy days, just the sound of the rain
>no need to water crops
>deserted streets
>people are cozy inside their houses
What game is that op?
>>3024682
SNK games had the best stages. Just look at that shit, crazily beautiful.
>>3036224
Beautifully pointless, there is zero interactivity in fighting game levels. Shit genre.
>>3036221
Wtf the guy lost to the first cpu opponent.
>>3036246
I'm pretty sure he was just showing off the stage fella.
>>3036240
Now that's what I call a hot opinion!
>>3036240
The aesthetics are always nice though.
>>3036260
You're hurt because it's true.
>>3036284
I wasn't the guy you responded to in the first place. I don't really enjoy fighting games, but I'm not going to shit on an entire genre of video games in a thread about rain. Do you see why that was a stupid thing to do?
>>3029046
this style of art makes me so nostalgic
>>3036310
Nope, I think competitive fighters are cancer and sure am glad the whole genre is failing.
>>3036316
Now that's what I call a hot opinion!
>>3027203
Damn I almost never played that game by then, but I agree that I was pretty impressed by that effect too.
Dem graphics are pretty damn good too, now I want to try an play it see if I like it better nowadays
>>3036240
Not very much in the retro days, but some do now.
