Does vr approve of hooking pcs to retro crt for steam big picture? Sure small text is hard to read but it is actually pretty cool.

Pic related

yeah but it doesn't matter what other people think of how you enjoy your games.

Here's something to have roms loadup from steam, it was a little buggy when i lasted used it but still pretty cool once you get all the settings right

I don't know what Steam Big Picture is but I'm pretty sure it's not retro. I like your Vectrex though, and those graphics look like an old-school RPG.

Basically if it was on a computer that used composite out like a C64 or MSX or something then it's entirely appropriate to put it on an SDCRT if it was on VGA/RGB like Amiga or DOS use a VGA CRT

Thanks for the link. I do enjoy this setup.

I am using a vga to composite box/scaler I bought for 30 bucks

best way to do this is getting an extron emotia so you can use RGB (some even have component) and output true 240p! In my opinion this, a PC and a good CRT is basically all you need for true retro glory. I'd choose it anytime over hooking up consoles to a flatscreen .. even though i'm also doing this.

my post is related to hooking up a PC to a CRT which has nothing to do with steam big picture .. mostly emulation purposes. Even though Shovel Knight with real scanlines looks awsesome

If you only have room for one big screen and want to play old games on it it's really the best option.

At first I thought that was a reference to the pic being rotated 90 deg.

Steam's pretty much just an on-line shop, mate.

is that a newer indie game on a crt? actually looks really good and authentically retro even if so

WTF is with the Extron shilling, lately? Even this time it's proved to be a bad recommendation, though it appears good at first sight, because the OP has replied saying he wants to emulate.

In which case i will redirect him to the /crt/ thread, where he should have posted in the first place :)

I wasn't aware there was a hatecrew against extron.

What the guy said would work.

Hatecrew? You might be reading more than I wrote.
