Was the window frame a sneaky way of partitioning the display area for efficiency or something?

Wrong video (that's much more recent). Here's the right one:

F29 Retaliator
Robocop 3
Grand Prix Unlimited
Stunts
Stunt Island
They aren't the best games, but super comfy for me. And I really like the non-textured low poly style. It still looks like "THE FUTURE!!!!" for me as an 80's kid.

Probably not. Otherwise they wouldn't render that ship or maps.

Starwing/Starfox. I must say I like the variation in Vortex but it doesn't have the feeling that Starfox games bring in.
Certainly not Star Fox
Virtua Racing
Virtua Fighter 2
Daytona USA
Fucking mindblowing at the time. Still amazing games.
Does this count?

It's crazy how much better Virtua Fighter 2 looks to 1, it's night and day and they're only a year apart from releases. Still looks kind of nice too, strong art direction helps quite a bit.
>>3008342
It looks better than Virtua Fighter 3 too.

Model 2 uses technology they got from Lockheed Martin. It's crazy advanced.
Even crazier how good the Saturn version is. AM2 were coding Gods back in the day.
>>3008331
Man, we don't have much higher polycount for characters than that even today, 20 years later, only the shading and texture mapping improved (per pixel shading, bump and normal maps, etc).

King's Field
Race Drivin' a motherfuckin' go-go
>>3008337
Probably not, since it uses sprites (like Doom and Heretic).
Another World uses polygons for all the actors, even though it's a 2D game.

Alpha Waves was pretty neat. One of the first 3D platformers ever made, with great Adlib FM music to boot.

What, for their flight sims or something?

Pic reminds me of that Silver Dream Racer film with David Essex.

I think this is THE first 3D platformer. I particularly find it interesting that they had the vision to include a camera looking downwards and a shadow, which a lot of later 3D platformers failed at.

Anon, are you serious?
>>3009692
No it doesn't. That's just frame-mapped shading. You can tell by comparing the opening cutscene to the rest of the game. Just watch the perspectives.
>>3008030
That really should be, "Personally, I prefer eclairs."

Depends on the context. They could be talking about post-mission snacks. They each have a single baked good.
