Chaos Angels from 1988 may not be the greatest thing ever but it deserves credit for defining galge RPGs. There were ero RPGs before 88 but they were light on the graphics.
Chaos Angels is a first person dungeon crawler where all enemies are monster girls. If you defeat them and have stamina left you can assault the girls multiple times to get special powers and bonus graphics.
The manual is surprisingly available on the internet archive.

The early Rance games are average, but 2 and 3 got remade, and 5-onwards is when the series starts picking up in terms of gameplay.

Rance 1 got remade a few years ago, I'm currently playing it. The original suffers a lot from bad graphics, a bad interface and some odd puzzles.
It generally strikes me as an odd choice as the starting title since it's more of a detective adventure with two small dungeons and of course Sill being away the whole game. It seems more fitting as a side story.

Nereid was my favorite. It's a shame her scenes never went further than the health inspection with Kakeru. They should have given her something with Eto outside of that weird PS1 port.
Rance I and II are pretty meh. Rance I isn't even worth playing.
III and IV are better and fun enough.

We can discuss them without posting NSFW images. A bunch of the games got licensed, censored and ported to home consoles. starting with Dragon Knight 2 for the PCE in 1992.
And interesting reverse case is Still Sword. It started out as a general audience action RPG in 1987 and then got remade as an adult game a year later.
The enemy changed from a dragon to a succubus, the protagonist became a female, you get lewd images of the princesses you rescue. It's kind of a parody of the original with monsters being replaced by cute stuff.
Gameplay itself seems mostly unchanged. You fight top down through rooms, win expendables and gold and collect seals to unlock the boss of the tower. If you beat the boss you rescue the princess and get a chance to shop.

There's also an original story for Rance which was released either in the late 80s or early 90s and I like it way more than the Rance 01 adaption.
Also, avoid the Sengoku Rance manga, it's a fucking atrocious adaption. It's almost as if the mangaka read a poorly-written plot synopsis, while drunk, and wanked it to a CG pack for 20 minutes.

There's a cheat code in the original version. You hold down a key, I believe Del, and select change clothes which gives the extra option to undress first and to access a music mode.
There's also a bunch of vacations with nudity.
It may also be possible to corrupt the dress data for the paper doll like in 2.

I tend to favor the Windows remake. It has the original story intact and a lot of voice acting.
The polygon graphics may not be for everyone though.
The battle system is tactic RPG instead of strategy and the individual characters are more distinct in their abilities.
The PC-98 version had a good overlook over the battles but was missing a lot of comfort functions like canceling moves, requiring you to carefully count hexes by hand.
And end up getting swamped by your own units if you don't sacrifice them. Particularly the slow melee units have no impact on the battles yet you have to deploy them. The other versions either let you choose your units at some point.
X68k and Towns supposedly have some difficulty adjustments but I can't confirm that.
The SFC has a unique story with extra characters and is the only console port with mouse support.
A drawback is that the battle icons are tiny.
The PS1 has limited voice acting and another unique story and characters. The battle system is quite different and there's an extra dating system where you can romance your troops aside from the normal town events.
PC-FX is arguably the least interesting. There's more voice acting than on the PS1 and the gameplay and story is practically the same as the PC-98. The censorship is less harsh than SFC or PS1 but still present.

In the other versions every character leads a troop of 9. When they take damage the number gets reduced and their fighting power accordingly. You have to return to a fountain to regain strength.
In the Windows game they fight alone and take hit point damage that doesn't affect the rest until their dead.

The leaked IBM/DOS translation of 2 is the only one in English aside from some broken hack for PM1 on the MSX.
Having played 1-3 I'd say 2 is the best choice. 1 tends to be very basic in comparison and 3 is missing a lot as well.

Overall I think the version differences in Princess Maker are minor. Pick the one where graphic, sound and controls suit you the most.

They do. Games with nipples tend to be rated 18 which is something companies like to avoid.
What's a bit confusing is the distinction between yellow and red label 18+ games. With red label you can expect nudity but with yellow label you can't be sure.
The current rating standard (CERO) was only implemented in 2002 so it didn't apply to retro games.

I don't think there are any. Aside from strip mahjong, the only games I can find or think of on those systems that reward you with nudity are Divine Sealing (shmup on Genesis) and Riversi Kids (Othello game on SNES).
There's a few on tg16/PC Engine. Lady Sword is a pretty solid first person dungeon crawler that has a fan translation, but the nudity is kinda lame in that one. There's also Hi leg Fantasy, which I haven't played.

Only notable exception is using End to select the items for Y, X and C.
The items you can buy are weapons and armor, you can only use the best one you bought so don't waste money buying things consecutively.
There was also a sequel called Dragoon Armor for Adult which was a first person dungeon crawler. Maybe I've been spoiled by Wizardry but it was way too simple, enemies couldn't even hurt me for most of the game and your fairy companion can heal in and outside of combat. Mapping or whatever was also pretty pointless as the floors were shallow.
For some reason there's barely any nipples in it either. The most notable part is buying fetish clothes for the fairy which you mainly can see during camp.
I can't find any info on a non-adult version.
