This is a weird idea for a thread, but:
Ports and/or versions of games that were not as famous but were the better version.
Super Bubsy for Windows (PC, obviously) fixes a lot of the retarded momentum and other physics issues, had twice the definition, and had an intro animation (from the shitty animated pilot)...

Also All-Night Nippon (Famicom Disk System) with better graphics and VS. Super Mario (Arcade) with less repetitive levels, higher resolution and very neat color display (it was arcade after all)... come to mind at being slightly improved versions of SMB1.

The only thing the NES version might have done better is sound, but both games just had the fucking Addams Family theme song on loop, so you'll probably want to mute anyways.
The N64 version of Resident Evil 2 was better than the PSX version, the graphics, sound and movement was better.

Jim Power 3D on the SNES was an atrocious game, worse than Bubsy even, but it got fixed up for the PC/DOS release.
Asterix & Obelix on the SNES has some bad hitboxes and poor enemy placements, the DOS version fixes both issues. But the music ends up being worse.
