What retro vidya has the best feeling character movement controls x camera fluidity/function akin to more modern 3D vidya? Like how the gameplay in pic related's series gradually improved so far as how great controlling your character and the camera felt as it went on. Are there any retro games that feel modern in this sense?

MGS doesn't feel modern to me.

I wish more games played MGS1/2 style. Fuck.

Me too. It's the perfect blend of 2D and 3D. I can't stand people finding it unintuitive.

It's really my favorite style of 3D game. I was upset when MGS4 was not the same as MGS1-3 (3 was a little different but not much, acceptable). Faggot Kojima. :(

When I think good movement, I think Mario 64.

3 was the same, though. Snake Eater felt the same anyway. They did some weird fuckery with Subsistence, I think.
