Just got a SNES. Can we get a SNES general thread. Any reccomendations for someone who is just getting into the console?
So far i only have 5 games for it. What are some good games I should try?

Skip it and play DKC2. DKC is really bad and not fun, especially the horrible minecart parts. DKC2 improves it, and theres no story to worry about other then K.rool stole kongs bananas and he got them back.

DKC2 is good, but it's pretty tough tbqh. The checkpoints are pretty unforgiving they're set in less than half of the level most of the times. And the animal buddy levels are pure bullshit.
And let's not talk about the special levels that you have to collect the K.Rool coins to access.
I personally found it harder than the NES Castlevania and Mega Man games.

They just aren't good games. Everyone has a huge boner for them for some reason, I could never understand. I didn't like them at the time, and they're even worse now; loose controls, awful visuals, bad music, etc. Miyamoto-san famously said something to the extent of DKC being proof that Americans will buy anything with flashy graphics regardless of gameplay.

I don't know since I use an everdrive, but I wouldn't pay top dollar for any of the DKC games since they're common as dirt. Heck, the first game is the best selling SNES game (that's not packed in with the system), so there's tons of them around.
Also, keep in mind that SNES collecting isn't cheap. Even the common games aren't really that cheap.

everdrive is 100% accurate. there are no glitches or differences in playing with an everdrive. it's like playing with the original cart

I agree CV III is amazing, and Rondo is pretty good (but if you hate IV for being "easy", then Rondo is even easier).
Dracula X is very similar to CV III in terms of controls and level design, so I'll never get why people who like the NES games hate on SNES Dracula X.

That's the thing though, DX is not a Rondo port.
It's closer to the NES games than it is to Rondo. The only thing it borrows from Rondo are the sprites and the story. The whole game is different and only a bunch of the bosses are the same, many others are exclusive to Dracula X, and the Dracula fight is also different.
It even has multiple paths and hidden levels (although just 2 hidden levels, as opposed to the 4 in Rondo) and you can rescue all 4 maidens including Maria, the difference is that she's not playable here, thus no easy modo.
