Not him but that's pretty much how I feel. Can't stand traditional rpgs but PDS is one of my all time favorite games. The battle system makes it engaging and a lot of fun plus your riding a dragon that can morph into other dragons. Impossible not to like..

Would you seriously rather traverse all the missile silos and elevator shafts that were glossed over? Honestly disc 2 was pretty fucking wonky, but lets not pretend that really any of the dungeons in xenogears were any semblance of fun, I was not all that bummed about skipping them.

You're very right that the dungeons sucked and by the time you get to disk 2 most people were a little thankful there weren't any more towers of Babel with shitty platforming. But that's all precisely why Xenogears isn't a very good game in the end. It's not awful, but very very far from the best game on the system or even the best RPG.
