Gore, close-ups of decaying bodies, sex references everywhere (dat scene where Gillian calls up a sex hotline or compares his wife's tits to a dancer's), this is by far the most "adult" game I've played which got an official Western release. Are you referring to any specific port? It was released on a number of platforms, none of which were Nintendo. There's your answer.
The Sega CD version was indeed censored, but not to the same degree other titles were subject to being censored on, say, SNES.
What bugs me is Sega's double standard in this matter. They completely nixed a gay character from Streets of Rage, but mostly left Snatcher's more intense sexual content alone.
