Literally just played this for the first time today.
I thought it seemed kind of shoddy, with enemies just appearing out of fucking nowhere, or only being able to grab onto and get off ladders at the tops and bottoms, etc. Music seemed kind of repetitive too.

Of course it's not a cakewalk at first but the more you play it the more you manage to get the enemies patterns straight and it becomes a lot of fun, you can experiment the powerups against different enemies and there's always a bit of tension. It's pretty good.
