Parts of music in old games that sound like non-game music (and vice-versa). These can be fun to find.

You made me realize this as I mouse-overed the links: Tarkus + pic of Kefka. Holy shit, it's Dancing Mad.
Even the quiet part with the organ in Dancing Mad is reminiscent of the sung part of Tarkus. Good find.
Not really game music to non-game music, rather game to game.
Driver 2 has a couple riffs that sound exactly the same as two other games:

House of the Dead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1zvTWS5Qn4

I don't know if these are commonly used samples, but I've never heard them elsewhere.

I like some ELP so here is my contribution to this thread:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daWSplj60hg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJp6SvYkgDs
its mostly just the intro but it makes sense that due to the age of the composers when making music for these video games that it would be largely influenced by 1970's stuff.
And here is another one I came across but have seen people mention it before:

Great thread, I wasn't familiar with a lot of these.
Ok, so here's a twist to this kind of thing,

it's from the same thing, but somehow they had to make it a bit different.
I think I found one guys, you have to listen closely though

I really, truly do not think these songs sound anything alike aside from being poppy.

It's just blatant plagiarism.
I like when developers recycle music ideas for different games

I always thought there were similarities with the theme from the MASK cartoon as well... the way the sing "masked crusaders" etc...
Cheetahmen / Ace Attorney

I'm probably the only one who thinks this but the beginning of this song always reminded me of Super Thunder Blade on Mega Drive for some reason

It actually isn't ripping off that track. Idk what the first track to use this sample is, but that break is from Lyn Collins - Think.
