/vr/, what would you do to improve Bubsy's gameplay?
Don't have CATastrophically unstructured and chaotic levels, especially in the very first level the player is introduced to.

Slow down Bubsy's speed when jumping and falling, and lower his maximum speed in general.
He plays far too fast to easily control.
I've often said the biggest flaw in Bubsy was the one-hit kills. Had bubsy been able to take a couple blows before dying, the first game today would have been fondly remembered as an all-time classic. Now they did do just that for Bubsy 2, but seemingly at the sacrifice of level & sound design.
One hit kills were the only flaw really. The WoRsT gAmE EvAr xDD meme needs to die.

bubsy 3d is actually a pretty fun game. its not very much like the first two bubsy games but it has an excellent world to explore and a bunch of shit to do

The difference in Sonic is that how your health works which compensates for getting hit unlike in Bubsy which you just die.

Reduce acceleration.
Add radar-like feature that helps you plan jumps.
Design levels that put Bubsy's abilities to good use instead just being gimmicks. For example, there should be levels where you must do long distance jumping and gliding.
