Does anyone have advice on how to git gud at After Burner? I feel like I just can't react fast enough to dodge the missiles, and sometimes I can't even see them.
Also, Sega arcade thread.

Play it without sound. No joke.

Shoot the enemy jets down b4 they launch missiles. Easier said than done I know. Your going to have a better chance staying alive tho if your dodging 1 or 2 missiles compared to 10 flying at you. Keep moving and put on the Afterburners when dodging.
Luv me some AfterBurner but the game can be hard. Good luck OP!

Dodge up/down, don't try to avoid shit horizontally. Helped me a ton.

Aim high and join the U.S. Air Force!!
Which version are you playing? I find it pretty difficult to play with a D-pad, a flight stick is ideal but an analogue controller works too.

After Burner II through Mame, using the analog stick on an Xbox 360 controller.

Get on my level nigga! Sheeit...

pffft why even bother having an After Burner cabin if it's not gonna be the version with the rotating cockpit?
>>2824908
Got me there lol. Wish I had the deluxe cab. Guy on a local arcade group I'm apart of was selling one diet cheap($500) awhile back but you would almost need a forklift and a large truck with a lift gate in able to haul the thing. THEN you have the issue of getting it inside your house.
I read that certain stages yield more points in Outrun than others. The absolute best route for a high score being Devils Canyon, Alps, Wheat Fields, and then Autobahn. Can anyone confirm this?
